SOURCE: Gateway 450rog cmos battery

The CMOS battery is located on the motherboard, just under the bottom left side of the keyboard, by the letter 'V". It looks like a clock battery, marked 3V (volts). The battery comes out of its "cage/connector" by gently lifting it with a small flat screwdriver. Replacement CMOS batteries are inexpensive and readily available at any computer shop. Hope that helps

SOURCE: need to replace the cmos battery on a gateway 450sx4 laptop.

Some are way deep inside, and you have to remove the top part of the case from the bottom.

Some others, you can remove the top power strip, (unscrew screws in the battery compartment, and sometimes on the bottom) and then unscrew the keyboard, and when you remove that, sometimes you can get right to it.

The only problem is, some of the laptop batteries are odd ducks, and not just the standard, they have wires or a metal tag on them. You can always order a new one onces you get to it.

SOURCE: I need to replace the

It is just below the keyboard under the palm rest. Remove all of the screws from the bottom of the unit, carefully - from the left side, pry up the trim panel that has the power button (careful since the power button board is screwed into this panel), then remove the screws for the keyboard, slide it up towards the LCD to release it, remove its ribbon cable, you should be able to gently pry the upper and lower case halves apart enough to see the battery. The cases will NOT seperate!!!!!!!!! I then used a small straight blade screw driver to pop the battery out. It was a CR 1220 3v lithium coin type battery in my 7330GZ. I had to go to a specialty battery store to get one! Hope that this helps!

How to clear a cmos password on a Gateway T1625 Laptop

b49ba1f.jpg
This picture is an actual replacement system board for the Gateway
T-1625 notebook. If you look at the top of the picture you will see the cmos battery location. You will need to remove the hard drive access panel which will allow you to see the battery location. You will need to remove at least 3/4 of the screws on the outside edges of the bottom of the laptop including two screws in the laptop battery location which are of different size than the rest. Set those two aside from the others. You do not need to remove the screw in the center of the laptop with the letter K next to it that is a keyboard release screw. Also remove the two screws located next to the removable wireless network module which is located next to the hard drive. Once you have removed the screws very carefully seperate the laptop casing starting from the middle of the cmos battery location and working you way out to the edges. You do not have to completely take this cover off you only need an 1/2 of an inch of space to work in. I used a hard piece of 1/2 inch plastic to wedge in the center to keep the cover open enough to work in, Once you remove the battery leave it out for a few mins then replace it and put your laptop back together in the reverse order. Your cmos will need to have it's date and time reset when you first turn it back on. Your cmos password will now be removed.

I need to replace the battery in my gateway 285e laptop, but do not know how to remove the battery

I am assuming you mean the CMOS battery. The operation is simply. On the bottom of the laptop are two removable panels. Remove the smaller of the two. Under the panel you may find a wireless communication card. If so remove the card using the catches on the sides of the card. You will need to remove the wires clipped to the card - be sure to note which color is attached to which terminal. Beneath the wireless card you will se the CMOS battery. Release the clip holding it in and replace with the same type of battery. Reconnect the wireless card, attach it wiring (the antenna) and put the cover back on the laptop. You're done.

If it is the primary power battery simply slide the catch on the bottom of the case (just below the battery) to the side and pull the battery out. The catch resets itself when you put the battey back in.

I need to know how to get the bottom off my laptop so i can get to the power button and fix the sensor underneat it. i removed all the screws on the bottom yet it wont come off. myl aptop is a gateway...

the bottom doesn't come off......you have to remove the cover on the screen hinge and remove the keyboard and monitor to isolate the "bottom" of the unit. After you have removed the panel on the hinge, you can unscrew the keyboard and detach the screen. At this point the bottom can be removed by taking off the main boards and other connected components.

My left speaker on my gateway ML3706 laptop just stoped working

If you get sound from both sides of the headphones when you plug it into the same jack the speakers normally plug into all you need to do is replace the speakers. If you mean you plug the headphones into the cd drive that's nothing special. You could have a bad sound card, bad connection in the jack, or bad speakers.
