Casio 4305 runs 5 minutes slow.

My Casio 4305, about 3 years old, recently started running 5 minutes slow.  I had the battery replaced, then re-set the watch manually.  I watched the hands twirl round the face and then stop -- at 5 minutes later than the correct time.
Can you help ?  We are on London time.

Sorry, I ought to have said "5 minutes EARLIER than the correct time."

  • eyremail Jan 06, 2009

Thank you for your suggestion.  Yes, I do know the manual, and have followed the steps in it.  However, when I carry out the formula to set the hands manually, the second-hand jumps, not to midnight, but to 2:10, and I never get the required display.  I shall persevere with that, but meanwhile my question is "Why should the watch, when it is re-setting itself, arbitrarily choose a time different different by about 5 minutes from the time transmitted by the wireless signal ?"

  • eyremail Jan 06, 2009

I just now carried out 'Manual receive.'  The indicator showed signal-strength between A0 and A3.  The second hand once again stopped at 2:10 instead of 12, and, after completing the whole process, the watch is still running 5 minutes behind the correct time.

I have now carried out 'Manual set.'  To get the right time, I must cheat by telling the watch that (1) it is 3 o'clock, when it is really 4  and (2) it is 52 minutes past, when it is really 47 minutes past.  Silly of me not to think of that before.

For me, it was half an hour slow, and it started happening after the automatic change to summer time/daylight saving. I fixed this temporarily by resetting the "home" position of the hands. However it's now lost half an hour again. Does this just mean I need a new battery, or is the watch likely to be broken?

either 3 minutes slow or 4 minutes too fast

No reason to panic as your watch hands can be advanced to desired time. Her is the link for your watch users manual download:

http://www2.casio.co.jp/manual_pdf/wat/en/pdf_search.php?MODULE=4305&submit.x=52&submit.y=12

Save it on your PC and follow instructions how to set the time.

Adjusting the home positions:
Hold down a+b for about 5 secs. If the seconds hand is not at 12, the home position is "off". If this happens, press a to move the second hand in 1 sec steps until it reached 12 o'clock. Now press b to adjust the hour and minute hands. If not at 12, press a hands will move in 20 second steps until they are at 12. Press b, watch returns to timekeeping mode and should now show the correct time. (:

I have a Casio waveceptor 4305. Since having the battery changed I am running approx 2 hours ahead. I can manually set the time and date but cant move the minute and hour hand.

You can get instructions from the Casio web site.

Go to the casio web site "casio.com".

Select "support" and the "manuals",

Select "watch manual archive"

Read the number of the back of your watch and enter it into the search box

My casio 4305 watch is showing the wrong time and ive been through the instructions but its still 3 and half hrs fast

You need to reste youre watch.
you need te set the dail to 12 hour position.
Doing it by holding the a and b button together. wait about 5 second and the dials should shift to 12 o clock position.
If not use the B button to shift the secons hand, then a then b fot the minute hand, then a en then b button to shift the hour hand.
After placing all the hands on 12 you press b on time and yourewatch sjould then adjust to the right time.

We purchased a Casiotron R-11 watch, model number 54194. After many years the battery has gone flat, we replaced this but are not too sure how to set the time and date etc. Please can you...

Hey there, Setting the Time on the Casio R-11 until the R-15 ist quite simple: insert the Battery, the you should see the seconds counting on the top of display- depending on the model there are bars or squares blinking every 5 seconds and progressing until one minute is done, then it starts again. When all the bars for the seconds are filled, simply press the button located on the left side of the watch. You can press it by using a pen etc. Now the Hours start running, let proceed until the right time is displayed (notice the a.m. or p.pm. bar on the top/right of the display). When you reached for example 10 (for 10:00 in the morning or night), then you push the select button on the right, then same procedure with the minutes. When you finished selecting the hours and minutes press the button on the right again and the watch starts with the time with 0 sec. You cab set the date by pushing the select button on the right and simultaniously pushing the button on the left with a pen.
Hope it works out

Casio 4305 battery change problem

You don't say whether it has the minutes right and the hour wrong or if both are wrong. If it's just that the hour is wrong, you need to set the time zone.

Atomic clocks and watches have a "zero" position. Your manual should tell you how to "zero" the watch and what the time should be when it is zeroed. Each manufacturer is different. I have one that points to 3:00 and one that points to 12:00. If you zero your watch and it doesn't point to the right position, you will need to remove the movement from the case and manually move the hands to the zero position.

Been there, done that.

Casio G-Shock GW-300 replacement bands

I have a Casio g-shock gw-330a and now find myself again replacing the band. So far, $60 on bands. They last me two or three years. To install the band, take the band and watch to a Jeweler. My local Sears does it for me. $5 for installation; $5 for purchase shipping; $20 for band. $30 every couple of years.
This cost disturbs me.

Light

My watch had the same problem and i could never figure out what it was so i just lived with it for a couple of years. then, just recently even when my watch was getting plenty of sun the battery would die in the evening and shut off at night. so i replaced the battery and evrything works great. even the light which leads me to believe the solar panel is just a gimmick. i have an old g-shock watch that i bought in 1989 and it still works and is on the origional battery. my gw 300 is about 5 years old and needed a battery. i guess 5 years on a battery is prety good but i would rather have it last for 19 years like my old one.
