Epson Stylus 580rx won't identify vellum paper

I am trying to print wedding invitations, and the printer won't print on vellum paper. It keeps telling me feed error, and to clear the jam, when there isn't a jam. Any ideas? We need these today! Thanks, taryn

Good job on the solution (folding regular paper). Worked for me. Oddly enough, the printer had NO issues when I was printing on transparencies (100% transparent) as opposed to vellum (not transparent, just translucent). I just found that to be very strange.

Ran into the same problem. The problem is that the printer's paper sensor sees through the vellum and therefore doesn't think any paper moved into the print position. To use vellum, fold up 1/4" edge on a standard peice of print paper and place the leading edge of the vellum under the flap. Place the paper and vellum into the printer and print. The printer will pull in the paper and the vellum together. Make the paper fold tight and straight to prevent jamming. You will need to feed one sheet at a time. Also the Epson inks take a long time to dry on vellum. I let mine dry overnight.

This did work, but I tried something that worked better. Put the blue painters tape along the edge that you feed into printer. I put 2, one-inch strips along each end. The painters tape easily removes from paper, and there isn't a mess with ink along the folded edge of paper from above solution.

The tape trick worked for me, however I had to put a two inch strip on the feed in end. If you put the tape on the back side, it will print to the edges.

I cant print on white vellum paper on my epson stylus nx420 i need to print some invitations and it is just folding my paper

Try placing some standard paper behind the vellum paper, it might assist in holding correctly while printing.
Being so thin the paper I would guess is folding up under the print head? if so look through all the printer properties, under the maintenance section there may be a "set Plattern Gap" (set to wide) or "Thick Paper Setting"
Selecting these raises the print head up to allow for thicker paper to pass through, but can also help thinner paper from folding up under the heads.
I hope one of these works for you.

I am trying to print on vellum paper and my printer will not recognize it. I tried opening up the control panel on my computer and vellum/lightweight/film/transparent are all not options for paper types. ...

The printer has no ability to know the paper type, this setting happens in SOFTWARE, like Word. Then the command is sent to the printer, more commonly you would change papertype for photo printing....Look in the software, and not the printer itself.

Why won't my printer print on vellum paper? Im trying to make baby shower invites and the paper just comes right out.

Im guessing ...

I had a similar experience with a different brand ...

Your printer thinks it grabbed two sheets of paper.

Open your priter program (in the control panel) and see if there is a setting for Vellum

I hope this works for you

Printer won't accept Card Stock

Nothing to adjust feed mechanics. If it's temporaly print, you must feeed paper 1 by 1, and when printer grab paper, push paper by hand. If it's routine print, you can adjust the pick up rubber at paper feedr mechanic. Add double tape ( 1 mm, soft) below top rubber. I have done it, and printer can grab/feed paper up to 350 grams.

I can't get my Epson Nx400 all in one to print on vellum. It just spits the paper through...Help!

I had this same issue and I got the printer to print on vellum but I can't say it looked all that great. But here's what I did. I went into the printing preferences and then to the maintenance tab. On the maintenance tab you'll see an option for Printer and option information. Click on that and then you will see a little check box down at the bottom of the pop up and it says Thick paper and envelopes. Put a check in the box. Click ok and then it should print on the vellum for you. Make sure you put the vellum in the printer the right side up (front side) because if you don't it will print all messed up.

Printing heavy weight invitation stock on Epson R200

The card is probably too thick. Try cleaning the feed roller in the Sheet feeder to improve its grip. Check the GSM of the paper is within the spec of the printer.
