My roku suddenly only showing sound and no picture, in fact when the program is done uploading, the screen turns blue and can only hear it. What should I do?

I tried unplugging the roku box and checked my HDMI cord on another product to make sure it was not the problem.

I just had the same issue. I only disconnected it from the usb charging then reconnected and now it works just fine. I've had this for a few months now and this is my 1st issue.

Out of the blue, my ROKU had sound but no picture.

To correct, I unplugged the Roku for 5 minutes. I restarted the Roku and the problem was corrected.

SOURCE: No surround sound when attaching hdmi to TV

Try running the optical TOSLINK cable from the TV to the receiver. If the TV doen't have a digital optical output, then try going into the menu on your cable box and setting the audio output to the digital optical out. Also check your TV menu and make sure NETCOMMAND is diabled. Some of your newer HDTV have Netcommand that allows the TV to control other devices through the HDMI cable.

SOURCE: The LCD screen is dark with no sound or picture when turned on.

I had the same problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound.

HOW I FIXED MINE:Look through the back vents for a white light to make sure the backlight still works. I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine. I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.

For me the part number was either (depending on the vendor) : 0171 2272 2174 or it was 3632 0212 0150. Check your circuit and see if any of those numbers match up.

SOURCE: HDMI signal cuts out for

Mine did the same thing where the screen would go black for a few seconds and then the picture and sound came back. I would try (1) switch HDMI cables, (2) try a different HDMI input in the back of the receiver, (3) try different input in the back of the TV. None of these seemed to work with mine. I finally ended up running the cable box direct to the TV and only run the audio through the reciever via coax or digital. No more problems. I think the HDMI inputs in the back of the reciever have a problem continuously carrying the signal if it is the leaset bit weak.

SOURCE: I have just purchased a

If you are trying to connect it in composite mode (the one yellow video cable) it won't work with the PIP turned on which is how it comes from factory. This is crazy as it means that you cannot see anything (menus) on the screen to disable it. I have a walk through guide here to turn it off blind or the other option is to take the STB and connect it to another TV via Component or HDMI and then turn off the PIP.

50 in onn roku tv piocture problem

Hi Randy, it sounds like you have a timing control board from another model or series TV, they can look identical but have different programs in the processor IC, if this isn't the case then something was changed in the service menu while the set wasn't operational. We've seen it happen in our repair center, we replace a board with the correct part but the picture is upside down or reversed, had to have happened when the owner was pushing buttons without a picture on the screen

Why would tv sound work fine but while using roku 2 the sound suddenly stopped working?

If the picture is OK then check your sound cables, red and white if analog, or swap out the HDMI cable with one that you know works.
Also, on the SETTINGS screen make sure your audio is set to stereo not surround sound.

Out of no where my Vizio won't show cable, Blue Ray, or shows on Roku. One of the HDMI ports hasn't worked well for awhile so would have to switch HDMI ports to watch Roku or Blue Ray, but overall worked...

you may need to change the HDMI board in the tv. it will be the hole board the parts are just to small to replace them all to get the HDMI board working again. find a second hand replacement. should be fine with another known working one.

My roku streaming device is froze on this blue screen and will not change?

Glenda, Are you connected to your tv by HDMI or AV cables?
The blue screen is usually an indication of one of two things.
1: The HDMI cable has come loose but not entirely disconnected (Turn off Roku and TV unplug the HDMI cable from the Roku AND Tv and reconnect them making sure to seat the ends securely and turn on TV and Roku in that order)
2: your TV or receiver may not support HDCP (a content copy-protection solution) over HDMI. This is generally true for older TV models that have early HDMI implementations that do not follow current standards. Try connecting your player with the included A/V composite cable instead.
