Turn tv on and get no program or weak signal message.

I purchased a floor model television, I get the no program or weak signal message when I turn it on. I have no cable and was wondering if I need to boost the signal for the television or the floor model does not have the program to get analog reception. The DVD player and game system work on the television but I have no reception. Tried to manually put channels in but they are not accepted as valid channels.

You should be watching tv in no time. Email me and let me know how it went I would like to know if I was able to help. [email protected]

1-You didn't say what model tv you have. Is it a HDTV?
2-Are you using an over the air (roof) or set top antenna connected to the tv?
3-Are you getting the no program or weak signal message on all channels?
4-Have you tried first cycling through the source or input button to make sure you are on TV and not on an input. Sometimes if you are on an input and for example the device connected to that input is off you wil get a no signal until you turn the device first but you probably already know that.
5-When you were in the process of scanning for channels assuming you had an over the air antenna connected did you make sure and select the ota option and not cable? if you have an ota antenna and not cable you need to select ota before scanning for channels.

Now assuming you have an ota antenna and you chose ota before scanning or doing a re scan and after the scan you still get the no program or weak signal message that means there is no signal and you may be using the wrong antenna or try moving the antenna in the direction of the television tower if you know where that is or turn in another direction but unless you are using the wrong antena you should get something.

Assuming you received some channels or even if you did not, try to and add channels by hand. Heres how: first you need to know the RF frequency channel or digital channel its transmitting on you just cant input the number of the display channel you want like on a tube at least not initially but you can after you first input the rf or digital channel number first and saving it on your tv then you can just input the display channel number you are used to. Heres how to manually force the tv to enter a channel without a scan or re scan and possibly loosing other channels with a rescan.

Go here http://www.rabbitears.info/search.php and go to state search choose your state from drop down list and click search now do you see the list of stations? on the left you have the display channel (thats the number you usually entered on a regular tv) and next to that is the digital channel (thats the number you need to enter on an hdtv or dtv initially to force the tv to accept the channel because if you just enter the number your used to initially the tv wont find it) the tv should now automatically redirect you to the channel you are normally used to and any digital equivalent and any sub channels for that channel. Now save it into memory in your tv menu channel list. do this for every channel for your area if you were unable to pick up any stations during a scan.

From your description it appeared you were talking about a newer model television.

If you were actually asking about the JVC AV-27F476 then the particular model instruction manual is below

I get, at least once a day, the message "No Program or Weak Signal". The happens when I turn on the TV or if I already on the TV on and change channels. Can you help me resolve this? Thank...

This Is quite normal, as long as its not permanent. It happens due to a delay in the TV picking up the correct signal. Also I can be caused by Atmospherics.
Hope this helps.

Our Toshiba 15LV505 15.6-Inch Widescreen LCD TV with Built-in DVD Player, purchased in 2009 is now flashing the onscreen message Digital strength is weak. We have it connected to cable TV. What can we do...

Hello
Hust connect your TV to an external antenna, and set it to auto tune, and see it stores all the transmitting channels at that time, and recieving channels are clear and crisp. If it does, your TV is perfect, and the trouble is with the settop box. Either the set top box doesn't get enough signal to process or its internal digital processing stage is faulty. It should be repaired. If TV doesn't accept of the accepeted signals are weak, the tuner of the TV is faulty, and should be repaired. OK.

The short version: Will a 14-year-old TV work with digital-to-analog TV converter? Specifically, I have RCA Model G25342AT, built in Sept., 1994. In case yes, converter should work... Trying to connect...

The converter box should work. Getting the remote to work with the TV might be a challenge. You might have to stick with two remotes. It used to be in the old days you could plug your tv power into the remote that way you would turn the tv on with the tuner remote but I be they stop doing that.

There is website that will let you check the digital televison signals for your area. This site should help you:

Weak or no signal message

  1. Since my problem (Samsung/Comcast) began with a channel selection button pushed on the TV remote when it should have been pushed on the cable remote, I figured the problem lay with the TV.  Although I was getting the "weak or no signal" msg., the actual signal strength bar graphic showed it to be strong. Disconnecting did no good. I surmised that the TV was simply not recognizing the box.
  2. I looked at the manual for my Samsung 750 model.
  3. Page 20 discussed "Selecting the source". I accessed the TV menu and selected "Input", then chose the "HD..." item from the highlighted list. Voila! My tv works again.
