My fuel cap release in my 2007 Honda CRV does not work - lifting the lever does not release the fuel cap cover. Is their an alternative way to open the fuel cap cover without using the release under the dashboard?
Thanks for the response, but unfortunately access inside the CRV is behind solid interior side casings and is not accessible through any compartment. After further research and contact with Honda service departments, I was instructed to use a credit card or screwdriver to jimmy the fuel cap cover open from the outside and then bring the vehicle in and have the release and fuel cap repaired. (Obviously Honda should consider an accessible inside release)

2 reasons a car won't start fuel and spark. Check the gapping check your battery alternator and fuel pump. To check the file pump have some one crank it to start it while you have the fuel flap open you should hear the pump if you don't it's the fuel pump if you hear it working check your work .
I think that generation of CRV uses an 'In Tank' fuel filter. It is built into the fuel pump and fuel gauge housing.
You will need access to the top of the fuel tank. If you lift the rear seat base and remove the plastic trim cover under it. There should be a screw down access panel with wires rising out of it. Remove this to get access to the top of the tank.
Hi Marvin,I just watched this video on your gas cover not releasing,it seems a lot of these Camrys do this. The part that releases it comes loose, here's a video showing you how to fix.Seems it will be easier with 2 people doing it. How to fix fuel tank door opening system Toyota Camry
you will probably find that the small spring at the hinge to open the door when the release is activated has broken
try with the help of a friend activating the release to open the door manually
otherwise you may have to go in through the boot, remove trim and undo the latch bolts to allow the latch to let the door open
May have to get a battery powered sawzall and cut the latch that keeps the bonnet closed with a metal cutting blade. Then, go to a salvage yard and replace that part.
Try pushing down on the hood while someone else pulls the lever to open the hood. Then lift up and release latch as usual. Could be broken spring in latch.
You can get to the latch through the trunk. In the trunk, pull theliner away from the area adjacent to the fuel door. You'll see a blackcable that goes to the fuel door latch behind a metal frame. Reach inand turn the latch mount 90 degrees to release it from the fuel doorframe. Your fuel door will now be open.
