It is very common to get faults with the main program(application) on tomtom satnavs. Download the instructions from www.tomtom.com Connect your device to tomtom using your pc and tomtom home. It should update the application. On the web site is full instructions on reinstalling all the programs to the device however you will need to save your map and install it from this backup once application has been installed as you cannot download a new map without subscription or payment. Check the website for the latest post codes for your map and install it as well This is free. MAKE A BACKUP of the device first as if anything goes wrong you can reinstall the backup.
it has lost the post code file, restore your tomtom from your back up if you have one, if not you will have to call tomtom cus serv and they will guide you through over the phone on how to reinstall the post code file, i had same prob

Simple solution would be to delete personal destinations, then change home address to a landmark (i.e. Nelson's Column Postcode for SatNav: SW1) and set thepassword to change this to a simple 0000 or 1234 ect...
what do you exactly mean ? you can search by Postcode search, for each digit you enter, the potential value list get reduced and when complete and correct, you have it.
use the POI ( points of interest ) feature. select poi / category / pick a poi, ie. gas station / near city, enter city! that will get you in the city(zip) you want..if you dont know the city name, type the zip in google to locate it.
go to tomtom website ----> support ---->select
product, in the search box type in "full postcode", click on the 1. "Full digit postcode search not working in UK or The Netherlands" then follow instructions.
