I have a Fender passport model # 250. For years, I have been using my computer to play music through the system. Recently I noticed the output quality of the right channel of the "Stereo 1" side was fading. I also noticed that if I applied a little pressure and held it, as I attached the speaker cable, the quality was normal. However, when I released the cable, the sound was there but the quality faded. It was as if there was a connection, as long as I applied pressure.
Any suggestions?
THANKS!
It seems like the speaker jack tip needs cleaning, or the contact has become bent away from the connector and needs to be re-aligned. The Passport is a portable system, so after years of plugging and unplugging the speaker jacks may be worn. Try using the "Stereo 2" connectors. You can also try cleaning the jack with electrical contact cleaner, and. a cotton swab.

mikeymiddles,
Thanks for your input. I was using the "AUDIO SYSTEM GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR", for noise control and as you said "after years of plugging and unplugging", those particular jacks donot work in "Stereo 1" however, they are all right in "Stereo 2".
Many THANKS for you input.
