The Ricoh error code 548 / SC548 is a fusing unit error code. If you are getting this error: Check the fuser unit to see if it is set properly. There are some connections on the fuser unit not making good contact.

• NoiseRFID: Communication error • Communication error occurs when the RFID starts to communicate with the RFID receptor. • Retry of RFID communication fails three times after the machine has detected the RFID communication error.
The problem is Defective RFID reader and writer • Disconnected ASAP I/F • No memory chip on the toner cartridge • Noise

SC 548 - Fusing unit set error or fusing unit installation error,differ to copier models.Try reset by open/close the front door or enter in SP mode and turn ON/OFF the copier.

An SC548 error code indicates a fusing unit installation error. I would suggest that you turn the machine off, pull the fusing unit out, inspect it for any obvious damage, put it back in, and turn the machine back on. If it still doesn't work after reseating the fusing unit, it is likely that there is something wrong with the fusing unit and I would recommend that you seek professional help.

sc 548 relates to the fuser unit...
check the thermostat and thermister..more than likely you will need to change them

High voltage power: Drum/ development bias output error
An error signal is detected for 0.2 seconds when charging the drum or
development.

High voltage leak

Broken harness

Defective drum unit or development unit

Defective high voltage supply unit

1. Check or replace the harness.
2. Replace the drum unit or paper transfer unit.
3. Replace the high voltage supply unit.

SC548: Fusing unit installation error - Definition - [A]
The machine cannot detect the fusing unit when the front cover and right cover
are closed.
- Possible causes -· Fusing unit is not installed
· Poor fusing unit connection


check the 2 sensors on the left hand side of the copier (as you look at where the fuser is located). These get knocked & moved out of postion,

Enter SP 5810 (SC code reset), select “Execute”, select “close”, exit SP mode then turn main power switch off and on.
to enter SP mode press yellow C button press 1 0 7 on numeric keypad and then hold down the orange C button from the menu select copier SP then type in 5801 and press # selest execute then power off and back on. Your machine should now be working. Hope this helps. if this doesnt solve ur problem then try contacting ur ricoh service tech
