I have a water-damaged Samsung SCH-u740 that I saved for parts. I bought the same phone, but now my newer version has a crack on the inside of the LCD, so I want to replace the screen with my older phone and see if it works. I don't know how to disassemble it... Can anyone help with this?

James121 is not correct. In this case, with the Samsun sch-u740, the screws are simple small philips screws. Its also pretty tough to get the cover off. you also have to deal with alot of wires to replace the lcd, including soldering the speaker back to the lcd. this is not recommended for 99% of people.

take the phones to a professional mobile store and have them fix it for you

Mine does the same thing. I called verizon, they said it's the phone, not the carrier.

Verizon told me that maybe at the store they could possibly download the software back on to my phone......that's a big maybe. The tech told me that once it gets to this point, a lot of time it's too late. If they can it will happen, if they can't oh well, I'll get another phone and go on. I really like this phone and the version 2 from what I was told, won't do this. But I also know to back everything up.
