You didn't say what camera model you are using.
If you have 7D/60D/T4i you can have a total of 3 wireless ir flashes.

580EX II must be set at Master, say Group A & Channel 1
Two 270EX II must be set at Slave, say Group A & Channel 1
or
One 270EX II set at Group A & Channel 1
Second 270EX II set Group A & Channel 2

Then go into camera menu & turn off Master flash & turn settings for those two flashes.

Send me a email, then I can help you much better.

SOURCE: Iam having a problem getting the two flash units

Make sure the slave is far enough in fornt of the master flash to see it. If the two flashes are next to each other then the slave is not seeing the master signals.

SOURCE: reverting to ttl - master flash not firing

Hi Kate,

What camera that you are having problem with those flashes?
Will switching the two have the same problems.
Make sure it is fully pushed forward into hotshoe & locked:-)

Try shooting second current, this will save you the repair costs.

Your exposure compensation was set to zero, but was your flash compensation set at zero?

How do I use this flash as a slave?

You need to set the flash to slave and the same channel as the master. If the flash doesn't have this function it may be able to be fired optically. Set the master flash to low power and set the off camera flash to optical.

Canon 550 ex speedlight - flashes okay. Won't sink with 60d (tried different cameras at dealer - same problem) Camera is okay .

Bruce,
Try these steps:
1. Set camera to manual2. Set shutter to 1/60
3. Set aperture to F5.6
4. ASA/ISO 200
5. 550EX on hotshoe
6. Do not set on slave or master
7. Turn on flash

Display must shows, ETTL.
If that doesn't work, you have to use the flash on manual.
Some of this model will not work fully on ATG Canon EOS-1D C, ATG Canon EOS-1D X IR, Canon EOS-1D X/60D/T4i because this flash is over 20 years old.

Unless you would want it to be modified by me.
But that can be costly when you can get the 580EX II for less than $425.00 USD.

Using canon Speedlite 300TL on Nikon D80 camera

The Canon Speedlite will work, but you won't get the full functionality of a Nikon Speedlight. Most importantly you won't get the through-the-lens metering.

Can I use Speedlight SB-50DX with Canon EOS Rebel Xti

It is not possible to use the Nikon SB-50DX directly on a Canon EOS Rebel camera. The Nikon flash gun hot shoe contacts do not match the Canon hot shoe contacts.
You can use the Nikon as a slave flash gun with a PC flash cord that matches the Nikon's flash contacts then connect the end of this flash cord to a flash trigger. The Canon's flash can then trigger the Nikon flash gun via the flash trigger.

Remote Firing of Flash Units

The EOS 40D does not have a transmitter built in. The remote flash units must be set to "Slave" and the on-camera external flash unit (eg Speedlite 580EX) or transmitter (ST-E2) set to "Master". Note that the Speedlite 430EX doesn't have the function to act as Master and you need a minimum or the 580EX or a ST-E2 speedlite transmitter (or similar) as Master/s.

Flash stopped workin as master in wireless mode?

Hi Joelgue,

Now, go to a real camera store and bring your equipments with you.

Say to them:

I have a Canon 580EX Flash and wanted to know if you have the Quantum Turbo Battery with the Adapter Cord for my 580EX?

Ask to see if you can test them out.

This adapter does not go into the 4AA battery hold but to the flip out cover, AC Adapter. You need to plug it into the flash.

Press "On" from the Q battery, then set flash to "Master" on camera and other EX to "Slave".

Turn all three on(1st flash, 2nd flash and camera.

Do not press shutter button but press the pre-flash(pre-auto lock/flash) on camera body. On the EOS-1Ds Mark III has "*".

Both flashes should come on.

Now, press the camera shutter using "ETTL Modes" and look at the image from the LCD screen...is exposure correct?

Address to this address from now, please: [email protected]

PS: You did set both flashes into same channel and with no exposure adjustment, right?
