Our player started to once in a while, play a movie but there would be no sound. If we turned off the payer, and then turned it back on, it would have sound.
Then it started another new issue. The player would some times just give us a blue screen. If you turn it off then back on sometimes it will work sometimes not.
Any one have any ideas? Sony told us to return it to them. just wondering if there is something I can do myself.
We have had this player for 10 months.
We like to use it for Netflix but it did the same stuff when we wanted to use it for that also.

There are firmware upgrades at the Sony site, I just upgraded to v5.20. You download an .exe file, run it under Windows, burn the resulting .iso file to a CD, insert the CD into the BDP-S300 and wait about 20 minutes. More detailed directions on the site, too.

It sounds like you need the firmware upgrade for your BDP-S300. You can download it from Sony's website, burn it to a disc and load the disc to upgrade your player.
