Samsung TV Screen faulty

My 52" Samsung LCD/HD TV (Model Number LE46A557P2FXXU - Version AA01) is having major screen problems. The entire left hand side of the screen is under a dark shadow and very blurrey with horizontal lines across the top however the right hand side is fine. This has now been ongoing for a few weeks and initially it appeared that once the TV had warmed up it gradually disappeared however this is no longer the case. The TV is only 4 years old. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: LCD TV SCREEN PROBLEM RED HORIZONTAL LINES OF DOTS ALL OVER SCREEN PLEASE HELP

This should be repairable. It may be the LVDS Cable or the Main board problem. The only other problem is the T-Con Board.

SOURCE: Lines across screen breaking picture into 4 sections

Based on reported problems with Samsung LCD tvs, It is probably one of three problems:
Separation of layers of the LCD panel;
A defective LVDS cable connection;
A defective T-Con circuit board.
If light hand pressure on the affected area on the LCD panel changes the problem, its the defective panel. If not, manipulating the LVDS cable will reveal the cable defect. If not, coolant spray applied to the T-Con circuit board should reveal if it is defective by temporarily alleviating the problem. Dont remove the back cover if you dont know how to protect yourself from electrical shock hazards. There can be more than 1000 volts in the backlight inverter area.

Screen is blackened on top of screen

assuming your TV is an LCD, there is an issue with the CCFL lighting tube/s and one or more needs replacing/repairing.
if your TV is LCDLED then there is an issue with your LED lightstrip - probably faulty circuitry and would need replacing.
unless you are confident with stripping your TV (which i doubt) then you will need to pay someone, and it will probably cost LESS to just buy a new TV -- they are getting very cheap.

Screen is black after the initial white screen that displays "Philips" Sound there but black screen with no picture Menu does not show either Nothing but black

I believe a firmware update can fix this issue. However to be sure I would need your entire model number, including the numbers after the slash. You can put that entire model number into Philips support website, http://www.usa.philips.com/#/headernav/consumer/

Once you get to your TV's support page, you can look on the right hand side and find the firmware information. First I suggest you read the Read Me file to familiarize yourself with the update process and what issues it fixes. Then you can download the firmware to your computer so you can upload it to a USB drive to perform the update.

Hope that helps!

No picture only sound ( plasma 52 inch )

Hello Fixya customer,

Thank you for your question.

There are several possibilities here including the signal source, a fault in the video processing, or panel display drivers.

This can be narrowed down further for your model. Please supply the full model number of your TV.

Hdtv picture freeze

I also have a Brand new Sony Bravia 52" LCD with Comcast Cable (motorola box).When switching between HD Channels sometimes the left side of the screen shows a smushed version of the new channel, and the right side is a frozen picture of the previous channel. I correct this by switching to a non HD channel and back. Cable or TV problem I wonder?

the clicking sound is the result of a faulty power supply, some capacitors(blown heads) on the power supply for the output voltage rail of the mains board need to be replaced.
