Your first answer is good. If you need to find the existing password, open your browser and type 192.168.1.1 . Use the password to open the router home page. Try "admin, admin". If that gets you onto the home page, try "Wireless settings", look for Wireless status. There will be three types of security i.e. . WEP, WPA2, etc. The one with several characters following it contains the password. Put this password into the receiving device.
the wifi is having a problem, the connection between the wireless modem and the network is being lost when there is drain on the wireless modem, buy a new network cord(they do go bad)plug it into your wireless and to the modem,if that doesnt work, then either your wireless is old and dying or you need a new powr adapter for it
If you have a combination modem/wireless router you should be able to connect your tablet to the internet. If not, you will need to either buy a wireless router that connects to your modem to broadcast the wireless signal or contact your service provider and get the combination modem/wireless router.
Probably your WiFi home network is password-protected. You are asked to enter the network password , not the tablet's password. If you are asked about a pin, it means that the tablet is trying to connect to WiFi in WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) mode. You may find the network password in the set up guide of the wireless modem/router. The pin may be on a sticker affixed to the router. You enter the password or the pin, not both.
Hi Dolores,
You may want to try restarting your devices starting to modem ( unplug re-plug power cable for 2 minutes) then your tablet. After that try to re-connect to your wifi make sure you are not at least more than 300 ft away from modem though your tablet has a good wifi connection system already ( you should not getting this issue ). Hope it helps.
If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem then -To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards and wireless adapters in all the laptops/computers needs tobe configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSLor cable modem.
Hello Punitrava, Hi, you can connect to the internet several ways, here are the common ones. 1. Via a free WIFI hotspot, find a WIFI area like in malls or coffee shops and enable you WIFI connection on your laptop. after enable the laptop detects the wireless connection and simply connect. 2. Via a USB modem, inquire about this on your wireless telephone company. 3. Via the Local Area Network like computer shops, insert any available LAN cable on your LAN connection, you need to consult the LAN administrator. 5. Via a DSL connection, just plug in the LAN cable from a DSL to your laptop. you need a DSL/internet account from your telephone company.
This
is normal. To save energy, the ARCHOS always starts up with the WiFi
set to off. You must manually use the Fn-F3 keys if you want to
activate the WiFi connection.
I cannot connect to the Internet over WiFi, what's wrong?
Make sure that your WiFi is activated. This can be turned on and
off with the blue function key pressed down and then the F3 key. The
blue WiFi indicator just below the touch-pad will light indicating that
it has been turned on.
My WiFi router/modem is on and working, but it does not show up in the list of wireless networks. What's wrong?
It could be that the WiFi modem/router is hiding its SSID. This is
done for security purposes sometimes. You can either change this on the
WiFi modem/router (see its instructions) so that it broadcasts its SSID
(and then you'll see it in the list on your ARCHOS 10) or you can go
into the advanced settings of the Wireless Network Connection screen to
the Wireless Networks tab and 'add' a new connection. You will need to
know the SSID name and its other connection parameters.
