The dlp chip was replaced due to numerous white dots on the screen. everything seems to be back in the right place yet now the screen has what appears like a repeating pin stripe pattern of vertical lines.
I had the same lines on my 65' mitsubishi tv after replacing the DLP chip. after going back over everything i realized that the casinf that holds the chip in was not in the lock position. i took the chip out and replaced it then turned the little locking mechanism to the locked position. now my screen is perfect. hope this helps.

Replaced the DLP chip and on initial switch on there were horizontal white lines evenly spaced between the picture. I had to refit the chip ensuring it was fully in and then locked the chip in place. It was easy to see if you looked edge on at the board if the chip was not seated correctly. Refitted and everything back as new. Thanks for those who originally posted the solution.

icfghost,
Your light engine is failing. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4251975-replace_dlp_light_engine which should help you get the parts and remove and replace the bad unit.
Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

if you have touched the chip by hand it can blow the chip by static surge
