I have cleaned and cleaned there is NO dust in this ******. When staring up after overheat, I get four beeps, kind of a siren rythym to them. Help??
1) With the case open, turn on the computer and make sure the fan(s) is working properly.
2) This is NOT for the faint-of-heart! One of the most common causes of overheating requires you to remove the CPU (Intel P4 processor chip in your case), clean it, and re-install it. There is a thin layer of gray goop between the CPU and the Heat Sink (the thing that looks like a radiator, under the fan) which is designed to transfer heat from the CPU to the Heat Sink. This goop is called "thermal paste." If it gets dried out, it will not transfer heat any longer, and your CPU will overheat.
If you are willing to attempt to remove your CPU, clean it, and put a new layer of thermal paste on it, please reply and I will help walk you through the process. You should be aware that there is a possibility that you may completely destroy your CPU if you make a mistake.
Is your CPU fan spinning? Check to ensure that it is plugged in and functioning. Also ensure that your Video card and memory is fully pushed in. If you can't get a boot after that. Do some research to find out what the four beeps on post means on that board.
clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making sure there is no moisture in the air line
as dust will cause a lot of static which will make a computer overheat and cause lots of problems
hope this helps

overheating and crashing
If you don't use the air conditioning in the summer (in Texas) will this cause the computer to overheat? I seem to have the problem when it reaches 80 degrees in my apartment.
