Spin cycle trouble

When the maching is on the spinning cycle, (it spins at 1400 rpm) it sometimes makes a sound like a hose has come off somewhere in the maching, its a bit hard to describe, sort of sounds like a bit like an air hose, like something has come undone, and then the machine still spins but also makes a clicking sound until I turn it off, and the words - Wash Motor Fault - come up in the display panel, it does not happen every time I do a load, it happened approx 2 weeks ago and I turned everything off as I was finished then have been using it since then, everything seems to be ok but I noticed this morning that when the maching is in the washing cycle it seemed to be making a sort of scraping sound, the maching has just finished a complete cycle and nothing happened again....only the scraping sound when washing. Has anyone out there got access to an Asko W640 workshop manual anywhere that may be able to help me. Apart from this problem it has been a great maching. I would be very grateful if someone couldl help. Thankyou Stells

Possibly a segment has raised on the motor armature or a faulty motor brush. pop off the belt and put it into a spin cycle to see if you still hear the noise- if so the fault is with the motor as the drum will be still. any scraping sounds in the drum may be a lost bra wire.

Hi My Hotpoint WF540 1400 spin is stopping mid cycle and not draining, rinsing and spinning unless I stop the cycle and choose just rinse and spin. Any suggestions? sarah

Probably needs the filter cleaning.
Remove lower rear panel.
Remove large black hose onto drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for obstruction here and in the pump itself.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Whirlpool washer ultimate care II sometimes does not spin.

HI It sounds like the spin basket drive is going bad. If it was the lid switch, you would get no sound. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks

AWM 8163 Whirlpool washing machine

hi there,

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping/or sound
during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and
redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Washer spins but not enough to extract water from clothes or tub.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped.

Load remains wet after full cycle (including spin @ 1400 rpm)

Hi Paul, Assuming it is pumping out ok, Unplug the machine tip it back at an angle, underneath you will see a black hose that is attached to the bottom of the drum, remove this, take out the ball and discard it and remove anything that may be in the filter, replace the hose and try the machine.
