If you are using genuine windows, microsoft offers microsoft security essentials full version for free. It has a great detection rate. You can try it.

Download the FREE version, uninstall your current version, when you install the FREE version, dont click on try the trial FULL version.
You dont want to try and hack or use a serial that is not yours on your security software.
There are plenty of good free antivirus.

How can I keep my norton version 16.7.0.30 antivirus working? It always asks for a product key. It's downloaded on my new Hp compaq labtop and I don't know what to do to keep it protected.
Yeah, sorry, after the 60 days you need to pay.

You should be able to remove the trial version through the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs.

Once removed, reboot the computer.

The best free anti-virus programs are probably AVG which you can download at:

Good luck. I would however suggest as soon as your finances improve, you get a full Internet Security Suite. Although the programs above work well, there are limitations.
