Figuring out the TV channels for Comcast using the Sharp remote

I just bought a Sharp LC46SB54U. The picture is better when I run the cable connection directly to the TV, instead of going through the Comcast converter box. However, many of the channels are not the same as the "usual" Comcast channels. This is especially true regarding high defintion channels and premium channels. For example, the FOX HD channel through the Comcast box & remote is 213. However, when I use the Sharp remote [without the converter box] it has the Fox HD channel as 45.1. Frankly, I found it by accident; and, I have no clue where the premium channels are, or whether other high definition channels are. Is there any listing of the Sharp channels, as shown through the Sharp remote?

Unfortunately there is no listing. I suggest taking a little time to sit next to the television with an notepad to go through each channel one at a time to label what stations come in on what channel numbers. Sorry.

DOES THE SHARP T V MODEL lc46sb54u HAVE ADIGTAL TURNER, IF SO HOW DO YOU ACTIVATE THE TURNER

it has a digital tuner that also does analog channels. You dont need to active it. I fyou are trying to get the channels over an antena, go into the menu and do a auto scan for channels. Set the auto scan as "cable". If you are trying to get cable channels over 19 it wont work without a box. The digital channels are scrambled for cable.

Trying to connect with Comcast using comcast remote. have idetified correct code and and can turn TV on & off with remoet but can not get channels to change .... just get static no picture ??? Can...

The Comcast remote only changes channels on the cable box. not the tv itself. If you have a cable box then the tv will need to be turned to channel 3 or 4.

People faces and a lot of other items on the screen are not natural looking, kind of like a manaquin. Stripes are distorted. It is brand new and I was wondering if the problem is the tv or something else....

On this television you would need to remove the Comcast digital cable box. This tv does not need it. Then you will press the menu button and choose either the channel or the setup category. You will then need to locate the auto ch memory or ch setup subcategory. Then you will select it by pressing enter after scroling down to it. Next you will scroll down to automatic search or ch search and press enter. Select search start for just digital channels and press enter. It may direct you to select yes and then enter. After the television is done searching the 135 channels it will come back to channel 2.1 or the lowest channel you receive. You can then go through your channels with the ch button on your Sharp remote control. The picture can further be adjusted with the av mode button on your remote if you press it repeatedly if you remote control has one.

How to connect tv to comcast cable box

If you only have the comcast receiver and a TV, take the input (wire from outside the house or outlet on wall) and screw that onto the input of the comcast receiver. Take another wire (or RCA, component connecters or whatever means the box and TV provides) and go from the output of comcast receiver to the input of the TV. Set the TV input mode (on the TV itself or by the remote) to whatever mode you hooked up the cables to (video 1, aux, video 2, etc) and you should see a picture. From there use the comcast remote to change channel. If you use the round cable (rg56 or rg59) you will not need any other connections between the TV and the box. The video and audio are broadcast on the same line. If you use RCA (yellow red white) connectors, yellow is video, white and red are audio) you will need all three wires from comcast receiver to TV. I hope this helps and good luck!

My Sharp LC46sb54u does not let you program digital channels from the antenna. The option is deleted on the setup menu. How do you get the digital option back? The manual says once you program channels for...

Go to page 19. Make sure antenna setting is on DIGITAL
Then go to page 11. Change AIR/CABLE option to cable.
Then run the "Analog & Digital Search Start". The digital option should come back.

i will help with the easiest way, hit the TV button, then hold the setup button untill the light blinks twice, then hit 991, it will flash again, hit the 1 again, then hit power, then hit the chanel up button, and if it dont shut off, hit the chanul up button again, keep going this every 2 seconds(with the chanel up button) untill the power shuts off, when it shuts off, hit the setup button again, that will lock it in, hit the power button again-TV should come back on, if that dont work, use the volum up button , after doing the first few steps, hope this helps

Sharp TV (LC52D64U) remote control Comcast cable (DVR) box ?

I had the same problem with my remote. I would enter the code and there would be no response from the remote. I looked up the manual for the other comcast remote and the codes are 5 digits instead of 4. Try codes 10093 or 11602. The reason why there is no response from your remote is because it is waiting for you to enter the last digit of the code. Hope this helps.

No sound on NON HD channels

I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.

Not able to connect Sharp Model 25h-M60 to Laptop or DVD player

Use a VCR as a A/B switch. Run Cable signal into VCR. Run coax cable out of VCR into television. Connect DVD to VCR (line in) using RCA cables. To use DVD, set VCR channel to L1 or L2 or AUX, depending on VCR type. Set VCR to channel 3 or 4 to watch television. VCR must be powered up to watch DVD.
