Hold power button and volume down until a menu appears. Using the volume buttons, select Wipe Factory settings" or something to that effect. There will be a bunch of no's and 1 yes. Then using the volume buttons select Yes. Then select reboot.
There is a reset button next to where you plug in the charger.use a sharpened pencil to press it.hope this helps.
Well i hate to correct the person on how to reset the nextbook 8. You first turn off you notebook. Then You first press the + volume buttom before you turn the power on. Make sure to keep holding the + volume when you turm it on. Also hold the power for 10 sec or a little longer. A small blue screen will show. Us your - key to scrool down or + to scrool up. The bes is to scrool down and reset the whole system to factory settings. Good luck. This is for the one that don't have a reset button beside the power input. For a small pen to fit. u
There is no reset hole in this model. You have to call Tech Support and they will walk you thru it. Its simple and they are out of California. It happened to me and they were excellent. The number is 1-888-415-5177.

It worked perfectly on mine
I don't know if this is available on that model. Give it a try. Press and hold the power button until you get the menu with the option to power it off. Press and hold your finger on the option to power it off for a few seconds. Hopefully you get an option to reboot the tablet into safe mode. This mode will disable all third party apps on the tablet. See if it freezes up. If it doesn't one of the apps is causing it to hang. This will at least tell you if the tablet itself is bad or if it is a problem with an app.
