P850 Battery Problem

Hi, I have had the P850 for about 1-1/2 years and upgraded the firmware off Kodak's site a few months ago. Ever since I upgraded the firmware, the camera's battery life has dropped to the point where I can only take a dozen or so pics on a full charge. I have tried 3 different batteries (Including a brand new battery) with the same result. I e-mailed Kodak support and got a "form" response that the life of each battery will be different and will vary.

Won't read card. tried everything. what's wrong

Since you did not give much info, let us try.

Make sure you have the correct card for the camera you have.
This camera Kodak Easyshare P850 requires the following memory card. MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital (SD) Card.

Since this camera is a few years old 5.1 mpxl, it may have a limit on the size of cd card you can use. If you are using a large card, go to a smaller card and see what happens, for instance a 512 meg. card.
This camera may have an upgrade for the firmware, and may make it work better. You have to check the Kodak site for such upgrades and info on how to install the upgrade to the firmware.
If upgrades for the firmware is available, it will improve some of the features on the camera. Always worth the time to check.

Hope it works.

I have Kodak EasyShare P850 Digital Camera starting shut off and turn on and I could not understand "why?" it is happening because I changed batteries three times but does not resolve the problem. Please...

Try using a liquid contact cleaner. I read about this fix on another site, worked great for me.
A product called DeoxIT in the U.S. is what was suggested, I am in Canada and can't get that here so I picked up a product from a company called NexxTech. Just a liquid contact cleaner.
Take out the battery of the camera. Put a few small drops of the contact cleaner on the power button and let it drip down into the switch. Rotate the on/off switch back and forth 5-10 times, put the battery back in and Voila! Fixed!
No more random on/off irritations, camera works just like it did before the problem started a few weeks ago.
It worked great for me.
Good Luck!

Toshiba E740 Power Problem

Hi, I noticed that the firmware that you have is not the latest, the last provided was 1.0623.049 which was released a few years ago. I would install this, in addition to the other patches from the Toshiba web site. Hopefully this will overwrite any software quirks for you. regards, Keith
