Just purchased the new blu ray "Wall-e". When I try to play it on my Sony S300 player, it will play the previews and then go to the menu as normal. When I hit "Play", it does nothing. The other features on the menu work fine, such as, the short cartoon "Presto" runs fine. I can go to "scene select" and I can choose a scene, but will not take me into the movie once the scene is selected. Long story short, the movie part of the disc just won't play.

Same problem. We got Wall-e and it simply won't play the disc. I have not updated the firmware because Sony has'nt responded to my inquiries to get the firmware update. Once again, sorely disappointed in the one and only....
It is not the disk. I too am having the same issue.
exactly the same problem
Rented a movie it loads and I can look at all the menus while the intro is playing. If I try to play a scene selection, or try to play the actual movie, as soon as the first scene starts it stops and the player cuts off.
Never had it happen before but this was the first BD-ROM I've tried to play. Took it back figuring it was a bad disc. The replacement did the same thing.
I have the same problem. The SONY S300 will play all the Blu-Ray I have that came out at the time I bought the unit. However, I noticed that with the HULK Blu-Ray I had to go into scenes to get the SONY S300 to play the movie. NOW - the SONY S300 won't play regardless of what you do. I can still play all of the first Blu-Ray movies I have but none of the current movies will play. Going to ask the geek squad at Best Buy if they know of a fix and will contact SONY!
Same problem. Even if a firmware fix is available, how would I upgrade my Blu Ray player? Is this a Disney problem or a Sony problem?
I just got Madagascar 2 and it doe steh same thing. TV sayus no signal. Now my Iron man is bugging out. :(((
Wont play any blu ray i have the last firmware but it doest not work, Wall-e, Batman The Dark Knight, and another one i dont remember the name. Very disappointed about this player !!
I have the same problem and it is not the disc. The new Madagascar 2 would not play but the same disc worked fine on a newer Blu Ray player. It has something to do with this Blu Ray not being able to handle new discs. Very poor on Sony's part
doen't play wall-e movie
Same thing here...I can play all the previews and when it gets to the menu and I hit play, it won't do nothing. I have the BDP-S300 SONY. However, when I used the PS3, it played it.
I have bought the Lost series and Mamma Mia. It goes through the whole intro and then it stops! Anyone know what the problem is?
i have the same thing
