First I got the "Waterproof Fault" thought I solved it by turning off, tipping washer forward to release excess water, then turn back on, worked for quite some time. Now however the machine just doesnt work, the display is normal showing time, program & progress etc. but drum just does not move, makes a noise as if it is. If I turn off completely inc. at the mains and turn back on the display just shows where it was at before unplugging.

Hello Ellen, welcome to fixya. I would begin by removing the rear panel and checking the belt and insure the basket pulley isn't loose as well. If the belt is in tack ( not broke ) but has come off that sometimes is caused by a loose or bent pulley, hence the suggestion to check the pulley. If the belt is broke, it may simply be a matter of normal "wear & tear" and just time to replace it. Hope that helps point you in the right direction. Please take a moment and rate this info according to it's helpfulness or let me know if I can assist you further. Thanks for visiting "fixya" today and good luck. Macmarkus :)

Hi Aaron from retired Englishman in SW France (nothing on TV!).
Although I do not know your particular machine most good manufacturers' machines have a water sensor sensing water on the bottom panel. We have the same with our dishwasher.
Unfortunately it does indicate that there is a leak- either a split in a hose or a hose has come off, although both of those one would not expect so soon- 4 years?
If you are confident and reasonably competent -
REMOVE POWER
then remove the back- presuming that the back does come off as I would expect it to!!
You might be able to see what is wrong.
If you are really competent, and only if you are, you could put the power back on and see/hear where the water is coming from. That's what I would do before calling out a service guy/gal in case I could fix the problem myself. It's up to you Ash 1979!
Good luck,
John C
