Hi,
I had same problem, the bowl is supported by (2) large springs from the top & two telescoping shock absorbers underneath.
I inverted the machine, found a large hollow retaining plastic bolt had falled out of the shock absorber, causing the bowl to be out of balance & the drive belt to be missaligned.
I reinstated the plastic retaining pin/bolt then tried the machine again.
Now the damn thing refuses to wash or spin.
I'm not happy.

We had the OE message come up and did the above procedures...that didn't fix it. I removed the dual pump modules (they come off in one piece...one is the recirculating pump, the other is the drain pump). Turns out, the drain pump impeller design sucks. Even though it turned when I put power to the pump, that doesn't mean your pump isn't bad. Once it is under load pumping water, the impeller can slip where the pin connects to it from the motor. We replaced the motor for $60 and that fixed the problem. Our unit is at least three years old and we have a family of four, so it does get used quite often. Nobody told us about the filter at the bottom of the unit and I figure if we knew this ahead of time, we probably could have avoided the impeller issue...but it is still a sub-par designed motor/impeller. The new one I ordered looks like an updated design so I don't see this happening again. It is quite easy to remove and replace the pump, btw.

Hi, Has all the water gone out of the machine? Try it on another spin cycle if it opens then the drain filter or pump could be blocked.

Hello there, Ok, first check under the lid, there is a peg that goes into the top edge of the washer. That is a switch. The idea between this is that it is a safety feature for mostly kids, so that when the washer is on that high speed spin cycle, that a child does not open up lid and stick there arm or hand in and have it injured. Most washer are designed so that the washer will only spin when the washing machine lid is down. So, of course you have it down, but sometimes the lid might have got a little bent or warped. So first try with lid down pushing down on lid while on spin cycle. If still wont spin, most likely it is that switch that that peg goes into, if you take a knife or flat head screw driver, with lid up on spin cycle and push into that hole with the knife or flat head screw driver and do not here a click when pushing it and releasing it, then you need to replace that switch, it is pretty cheep, normally under 20 bucks and a appliance store and when picking up the part they can tell you exactly how to replace it yourself, it is pretty easy and only takes a few minutes. Hope this helps. Mike Please select a 4 thumb up, if this helped you, and atestimony if you like. Also take advantage of fixya expert assistance live. Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Indesit (Hotpoint, Ariston) 'F05' decodes as 'pump'blocked'.
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
