Please make sure the receiver is plugged directly into the wall, bypass any power strips. Make sure the remote has fresh batteries inside, press and release the SAT button and then press the select button. If the remote is not working, go to the receiver and try the select button and try to channel up and down. If you have any further DISH questions please e-mail me: [email protected]

It sounds like the remote lost its function, you need to program it again, try this. Please press SAT at the top left of your remote for 5 seconds and then press RECORD three times. IF that does not work, access the system info from the TV1, location, readress that remote.
To readress that remote, try this. With the remote that is not working, please press and hold the SAT button. Once all the buttons light up, let go, and then press 9, then # (below 9). Press RECORD twice. Did the Remote Address change on the system info screen? If so, you are set!

Hello! My name is Becki Barned, and I am from Dish Network customer service. The problem that you are having is simple to fix. Although your remote works for the volume, and power, it is not working for the satellite. It does need to be reprogrammed. Just take it to tv1. With your tv1 remote, press the menu button twice. Then with the tv2 non-working remote, hold down the SAT button until all the mode lights light up at the top, then release. Then press the #9 on the remote keypad, then the pound (#) button, then record (above the number 3 on the keypad) 3 times. This should resolve your issue!!! If not, you can blog back, or find us on Twitter!!!!

This seems to be due to the TV being on the wrong input. Use your Vizio remote and cycle through the inputs until you reach the audio inputs. Try all of them with the receiver on and the amber, green and blue lights on the receiver. If you do not see a picture here the TV may have been connected by coax. To check this go to th TV input using your Vizio remote and key in 03 or 003. You should be able to see satellite now. It will also depend on how your system is a connected to your peripherals if you have any connected.
Hope this solves your issue. Thanks for using FixYa.com.

I have tried new batteries, plus using the controls on the receiver. It just stays on the same screen. The receiver is several years old, could it need replacing? Thanks!
