When you make copies on your copy machine, does it ever leave a black vertical line ... QLS ' How to Eliminate Vertical Linesfrom Scans, Copies & Faxes ... Part 2- Fix or repair color laser printer with fading, light print, or lines ...
The received fax is clean but when you send one out it has a black streak on it. Cool! So far so good. Makes sense because for sending, the fax scans the original document and parts of the scanning area could be dirty and so on. Therefore a black streak may appear. The same black streak would also appear when you make a copy, because the original document must also be scanned. Logical!
However for receiving faxes, the machine uses the internal memory and the print engine only, and the same applies to printing the transaction report, which comes from inside via the print engine. The scanner has no rol in either situation.
the blcak line that runs from top to bottom is due to a dirty misaligned print head...do a full printer maintenance on your printer/scanner . Once the heads and rollers get clean and the printer is aligned, it should get rid of any black streaks or lines. I own a Brother Printer/scanner and it did the same thing to me, as soon as I ran maintenance on it..it fixed the black straks and lines I had on my prints.
i have an lexmark 6500 all in one copier. If I print from the computer the copies are o.k., however, if I print a copy from the copier the copies have a black streak on them. How do I get rid of the streak on my copies
If everything is coming out with streaks, it's most likely your cleaning blade which is part of the drum cartridge. I've also seen this from 3rd party toner. Get Sharp toner for your Sharp fax if you don't have it already. If your black streaks are only on copies and sent faxes, this indicates that your scanner is dirty. It's located where you feed your paper in. Lift this part up and you'll see a strip of glass running front to back about 1/2 inch wide. Clean it and that will get rid of lines.
If it is just when you copy and not when you print then it is a cleaning issue. Toner cartridge would cause the line to appear on copies, printouts and faxes. There is a piece of glass inside the auto document feeder that is probably dirty. Open up the document feeder as if you were clearing an original document jam. Look for a piece of glass inside the ADF, it will run the length of the document feeder. There is probably some dirt or another popular problem is white out. Clean off the glass with glass cleaner or alcohol and it should fix the problem.
Does this streaking problem occur when printing (not copying)? If it does then you are probably looking at a consumable issue. Alot of times black streaking is caused by a defective or spent drum. Is your drum new? There is also a blue piece on the drum unit used to clean the corona wire that cleans the drum. Have you tried moving it back and forth several times?
If the problem only happens when copying and the streaks are as bad as you make them out to be then you problem have a bad CIS unit (scans your originals for faxing or copying)
