I want to print out an only black document with only my full black cartridge. My only empty cartridge is Cyan and i STILL CANNOT PRINT OUT ANYTHING! This is a terrible situation and I dont have to deal with this. If i had known that this printer would do this i would not have bought it.
The Printer requires a fully operations set of cartridges to print. Some models of printer WILL allow black only printing - but not all. Are you sure there fore yours will? But still a fully operational set of carts are required to be on board. check out - www.fixyourownprinter.com

When i need the printer the MOST I'm only missing ONE cartridge of ink and i wish to only print out an all black document so that I may turn it in by the deadline WHICH HAS PAST. Excuse my irritation but it is towards the printer that I am unfortunately using. Money is also an issue. I would actually be happy with an only black toner printer, however, but color is a leisure to have.
Alright, I understand. Thanks for the info, i appreciate it.
I also have the same problem, my colored ink cartridges are almost drained but my black ink cartridge is full. I printed imporantant papers but they came out blank, At first I naturally thought it to be a marketing guise for your ink, however you don't have to sell a good businessman
I tried this and it worked for me. Get the carriage into the change cartridge position, press ink button once and then once again after carriage has moved. Take out empty cartridge and turn off printer for about 5 mins. Turn on printer and when it has settled put in magenta cartridge and printer will recognise. Set to Grayscale and print away!
