Hi, My Aquarius Washing Machine switches on, fills up, and makes the noises as if it was going thru the cycle, so i beleive the motor is ok, but the drum doesn't spin? The Drum Spins when moved by hand. What could be the issue, and how can i check myself? Thanks, Phil

sound like the contact points on the timer are probebly dirty or arched to where they are not making good contact. you can take and clean them with a piece of emery cloth if you are mechanically inclined and can take the timer apart. Also there's a set of contacts down by the motor ti check too.
Good Luck,

If the machine pumps water inside but does not start :
Start checking the lid switch, if this is stuck the machine wont start.
If the drum does not move at all, the motor, the motor control unit, the motor coupler, the control board may be faulty.
For more details , see: It doesn't spin

more than likely the rear bearing has gone bad and when a load is applied the difference in weight distribution causes the knocking.

Todd/Jason/Ginko... Thanks for getting back to me... So I have taken the top panel and the back panel off. It was just the drive belt which had frayed and come off, I orderd a replacement belt and thought it would be easy to fit, but it's not. I have tried connecting it to the motor then up around the drum wheel, feeding the drum slowly but the belt just too short? (the belt is exactly the same size as the one which was damaged), I thought the motor might be adjustable but it doesn't seem the case, is there something I am missing? I've attached some photos... you can see the motor, and you can see the belt is about 1 inch off being able to attach to the motor, but there is no give in the belt at all, I can't even fit the old frayed one on?
