Please provide a brand and model number so I can attempt to help here---if set total dead with no power suspect fuse that power cord goes to inside the set or the power supply inside the set itself.

Power board and back lights led tv

BL Inverter board fault. It's not working [oscillating]. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Why wont the tv pick up any HDMI input?

Hello. CEC stands for Consumer Electronics Control. This allows you to use one remote control to operate multiple devices that are connected with the HDMI cables. Since all of the equipment worked before the power surge, it is very likely it will work again. We just need to "reset" everything.

Start by unplugging all devices from AC power and disconnecting the HDMI cables. Assuming you are using the TV remote to control everything, pug the TV back into AC Power and turn it on. Go thru all standard setup on the TV as needed (set date and time, scan for channels, etc). Turn the TV off.

Connect the first HDMI device to AC Power, connect the HDMI cable and then turn on the TV and the HDMI device. Check to see if the remote controls both devices. If it does not, go thru the Setup options on the HDMI device (you may need to use the original remote control) and see if there are any settings that apply to the HDMI CEC settings (enbable or turn them on).

Repeat this for additional HDMI devices.

By unplugging both the controlling device (TV) and the controlled device (such as a Bluray/DVD player) and then reconnecting them in the correct order, you should be able to get all devices working on the same remote again.

My samsung TV will only play DVDs in black and white.

ensure the country region on the samsung bluray is set correctly to your country and tv set (NTSC OR PAL) at setup,
menu/system/setup - select country correctly - and this should detect another TV device if correctly connected through HDMI, and start the anyconnect application, if your Tv is another model, it wont. if playing DVD's in black and white it seems you might be located in another region to which you purchased the bluray player and differs from the set. did you buy the Bluray from the same store as the set?....please dont say ebay !

I have a VR-6025Z 60"

unplug TV and Bluray power cords from wall socket, replug HDMI cable in both units, replug power cords back in, turn them On and check.

Let me know how it worked. it seems Bluray player set its display resolution bit higher that TV doesn't support.
Please connect Bluray in TV by usual AV cable (yellow-red-white) and go to BD player setup menu and reduce HDMI Out resolution like 1080p to 1080i, then check it in TV HDMI input.

Tv shut off, and wont turn on. It flashes when you press the power button. NO clue at what is wrong.

is the tv on a power strip? unplug the tv from the power strip or wall outlet wait one minute then plug back into the wall outlet and not a power strip. TV should power back on.

Wont turn on after electricity went off, was on at the time of the black out and now will do nothing

Check your connections. Is the breaker tripped to that outlet? Is the TV plugged into a power strip ( if it is try replacing the strip). Sometimes simply unplugging the unit and waiting just a few seconds and plugging it back in works. If none of these things work, Im afraid it may have fried the internal circuts.

Just wont power on with remote or on the tv front. was watching it and it went off like you turned it off and now nothing, big paper weight!

is it plugged into a power strip? did the safety trip on that strip? also try plugging the tv into a different jack. if this doesn't work, i hate to inform you, but...your power supply on your tv may have just gone out. you will then need to contact a local repair company to see if it is worth fixing.

HDMI connection with Panasonic DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray Disc Player

Try hooking the Panasonic up straight to the tv without going through the receiver. If it displays a picture its obviously not the blu-ray player. May also be a problem with the HDMI cable itself. Hope this helps.
