SOURCE: Wii to RX-V363?

Hi..
If youre talking about the set of 3 A/V plugs in the front then you need to connect to the Video Out (yellow) plug in the back that says something like "Front Video" or "video 3" out. Connect that to the display.

SOURCE: Direct TV remote code for yamaha rx-v463?

It is 30376. The trick to discovering, is to turn the receiver off, first. Then it will power on when you input mute/select 30376. Then you can program the DirecTV remote to adjust volume (in AV2 mode only or in all modes). However, it will only power up the receiver. It has to be turned off with the original remote or at the receiver itself.

SOURCE: no picture from wii

The RX-V800 switches the various video signal types separately.
Since you are feeding S-Video to the TV the composite (yellow) input from your Wii is not going anywhere.
If you cant get S-Video output from the Wii then I'd suggest a simple Composite to S-video adaptor plug ($5 say). It worked for me with a Game Cube.

SOURCE: Need yamaha codes to program into uverse tv ir remote

(I have the RX-V659). Because the Yamaha remote has TWO SEPARATE buttons - power ON and power OFF (standby). This problem can't be fixed. There's a code to choose power ON and another code for power OFF. But one button can't be two buttons. Bad engineering\ design by Yamaha in my opinion

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V365 unable to receive 5.1 audio from TV with HDMI

If you're expecting multichannel sound FROM THE TV instead of from the source you're watching, it's not gonna happen. TV's are notoriously poor sound sources. This one is no different.

Multichannel TV-related audio is best found at its source - cable / sat / dvd / bd....

I run video-related audio from my video sources directly to my TV and their audio directly to my receiver. Specialization yields best results.

I'd recommend skipping the Receiver for video, too, as it adds a lot of opportunity for HDMI-related incompatibilities and sound syncing problems. The more interconnects in the path, the more distorted it will become and the more opportunities for problems. Plus you can bypass the receiver and listen to lo-fi programming like news and weather through the TV's speakers if you like. Save a buck on electricity.

Just curious, which HDMI on the receiver is connected to your TV? Input or Output?

This note is on Page 11 of the manual:

Audio signals input at the HDMI jack are not output from any speaker terminals but output from the connected video monitor. To enjoy the sound from speakers connected to this unit,
-- make an analog or digital connection besides the HDMI connection (see page 13).
-- mute the volume on the connected video monitor

================
"Check SP cable." -- The unit is perceiving a short circuit. Are your speaker impedances sufficiently high? Disconnect the Front Right speaker and try raising the volume again. The speaker may be blown or the cable shorting.

I connected the HDMI 1 input from my tv to the HDMI output on the Yamaha Rx-v673 but i do not get any signal going throught to the tv. when i try put my samsung input source as HDMI 1 the tv prompts me...

To connect a TV you should use the Rx-V773, not the 673.
With the 673 you can use TV only as input, not output.
However there is a firmware update for your receiver. Try it.

Someone sat on the remote control for my Yamaha rx v557 and I have no tv picture--do have sound. System is set up to Direct TV. I can change channels and hear everything fine, but can't get a TV picture It...

If it was the remote that changed the function then likely the mode has been changed. You probably need to have it changed back to the input you plugged your DirectTv into, such as video1 or component, or cable/sat. etc, etc...

The Yamaha RX-V463 AV does not playsound from the blue ray player

"I am also having difficulties in try to display the yamaha set up menu on the tv."
According to the manual the display menu for TV will not work with HDMI hook up.
I also have a Panasonic HD TV and can't get TV sound through my Yamaha AVR on "TV Sound" mode.  Trying to use HDMI cable for this also.  Do I need a digital optical cable or do I not have something set right?

Yamaha rx-v1800

I think the Yamaha will not upconvert anything below 480p through the HDMI output. You'll need to use the component out to the TV.
