I recently got a Casio Exilim S600 digital camera from my parents for my birthday, and when I set it up and put it in the charging dock, it didn't charge even though I let it go overnight for more then 8 hours. The red flashing light was on, indicating that it was charging, but when I disconnected it from the dock it wouldn't turn on. The slideshow feature would work. I've tried taking the battery out, and putting it back in, and it's definitely in the correct way. It doesn't seem to make sense that the battery is dead because it's brand new and hasn't been used yet. Any idea as to what could be wrong with it?
A red flashing light does NOT mean it charging. THat means you have a defective battery. Call tech support and tell them that you have a defective battery and they may be able to get a replacement for you.
Your battery has discharged completely - flashing light means error -If you are covered by warrenty Just return -if not one trick is to jump start the battery by :
get a small 9v ( smoke alarm type battery ) and connect pos to pos and neg to neg between your battery and the 9v one for about 30sec then put your battery in the charger and red light should be steady red ( when charging ) I actually have done this on ocasions but using a small 9v trans former and have always had sucess
ONLY do this for 30 sec at a time and repeat if necessary

Casio Exilim EXZ75. I bought the camera for christmas and had to take it back 3 times for a faulty battery that will not charge. I am taking it back tomorrow again with the same problem. So make that 4 times. Whats the deal, give me a battery that works.
