I just bought a Sony Home Theatre System DAV-HDX589W. I have been trying to get the rear speakers to work using S-AIR. All I can get is the solid red paired light on the back of the sorround amplifier and the green power/online light on the front of the amplifier flashing green. No sound will come out at all. I am hooked to my Sharp LCD using HDMI and Component cables. Anyone have an idea???

I resolved the problem by going in the dec mode (page 49 of manuel) and changing the setting to Pro Logic. That did the trick. Good Luck all.

We just hooked ours up and had the same problem, we switched around the s-air cards and that solved the sound problem immediatly.

My DAVHDX576WF surround system is connected to my TV by HDMI, but I hear no sound. The home theater test/setup is audible, radio is audible, but nothing from the TV

Which direction do you expect audio to be flowing: from or to the TV? The HDMI is an outbound connection for video. Page 71 describes how to enable the DVD AUDIO ONLY if you really want TV speakers to be competing with the DAV.

No sound from TV thru sony bravia hdx576wf; DVD & CD audio ok.

Could be a sync calibration issue. Try to divert the TV sound to another input source on the Hometheatre system if possible, if it is a go then maybe the TV audio needs to be recalibrated. Make sure TV audio setup menu option has not changed also.
