No Sound I'm almost positive I damaged some internal components while retrieving two cd's jammed into the DVD port by my 3 year old son. I need to find a diagram of the internal components

  • Anonymous Dec 05, 2012

I'm pretty sure I disconnected a wire or knocked something loose.

  • Anonymous Dec 06, 2012

Do you mean the DVD laser that scans the discs? If so, why is there no sound with VHS or Radio? I must have pulled a connection loose or damaged an internal component. I really need an internal component diagram for this model.

DVD/CD room isn't opening. Motor runs and it's sound is very strong. Firstly "CLOSED" is shown and then "LOAD" on screen. But not achieved. Thanks for you help.

The only way to approach this is someone has to open the unit and "see" what is happening---something jammed, broken or out of position.

My pc does not see cd in uj-852

Open your chassis and blow out the dust with compressed air. Accumulated dust can make electronic components (like chips in a computer) heat up so much that they fail. Luckily, in my experience, after the dust is gone, the component will become functional once again.

Door will not open

this product seems to be an audio CD player in use with a stereo system.
Have you tried inserting a paperclip (that has been straightened out) through the tiny hole available to manually coax the tray to come out. It will pop out just a little, but it will then be unlocked and be easy to bring out, displaying the entire CD.
If you have tried that, then.....
Take the cover off (the entire case) and inspect the area where the CD is. Many of these players have no metal encasement around the CD mechanism and one can see the inner workings. The CD may have gotten askew, or the mechanism jammed. Gently try to free things up.You should at least retrieve your CD.

Put the thing back together. Use a junk cd (keep the stereo amp off) and try to load and unload it. If that fails.... Time to get a new one.

Here's a suggestion for that. Most all DVD players handle cd's. Purchasing an inexpensive DVD player might be cheaper than finding a stereo component CD player. Just use the audio out.

Good luck

Need to hook up LG tv to phillips cd/4 head hi fi and RCA surround sound

Hello!
Ok: I will guide yourself through "hook up" process.
1. connect your TV set to your VCR, using 3 wires RCA cable(Yellow, red, white) to "Video1" input, yellow only! The other 2(sound channels) connect to "home theater/DVD unit. Use "aux" input.
2. Connect your DVD video output. yellow or 3 colored( green, blue, red) component cables to your TV's Video 2 or "component 1" input.
Now you'll be able to use your TV as a video monitor for your VCR and DVD.
The sound will be handled by DVD/Home theater. In case your TV is a very modern, all you can get out is: direct digital sound stream. Your home theater must be equipped with coaxial(orange) input(looks like RCA plug) or optical input. Or both. You must use proper cables to connect TV to Home theater.
sorry, but it requires some patience and thorough reading of user manuals.
Otherwise, it's "level 1" difficulty. nothing you may damage, due to installation.
Good luck,
Feel free to ask for more help, if needed.
thanks,
Alex.

My component is in LINEAR PCM MODE when it start playing dvd/cd no sound comes out. while in CASSETTE TAPE, it has a sound. i want to know what is this LINEAR PCM, coz i notice, when i turn FM it has a...

LPCM is for digital sources ONLY. Your cassette wouldn't be digital would it? FM, being an internal source on your unidentified receiver CAN'T be wired or configured incorrectly. Crack the manual open and find out how to set the parameters for all the digital inputs, then connect and select an analog input for the tape.

My PlayStation 3 is stuck and jammed with a CD and won't eject it. Also it has pennies and nickels in the system. And I don't know why but it has a red light in the digital out.

I'm pretty sure the jammed CD might be directly attributed to the pennies and nickels. I would definitely be curious to know how those got in your system. As for the red light in the digital out, it could just be some internal LED that is shining a little bit of light out of the port. But yes...the change in the machine is likely causing your other problems. I would take it to a repair shop or send it in to Sony as soon as possible to avoid further or long-term damage.

I cannot hear sound system play cds and videos

Every CD/DVD-ROM drive has an audio port opened. An audio cable connects to the back side of the CD/DVD-ROM and connects to the motherboard. Most MB's have two four pin audio ports, one slot white in color and a second black in color. As far as the CD/DVD-ROM not reading the disk. Make sure the disk is free from scratches; oils from you're fingers or just plain dust. Open the drawl and blow out the CD-ROM drive or buy a CD cleaner which will clean the internal laser. These days it’s hard to find a CD/DVD ROM drive with a warranty longer than 1 year. Most ppl buy a new one when it fails to read CD's.

My marantz DV 9500 doesnt output digital signal for audio cd anymore but outputs audio for dvd, sacd, dvd audio. Does it need servicing

Make sure your playing componet like CD player have a digital output socket. Connect this to a digital port on the amp witk a single RCA or Optical cable if output available on CD. Make sure the digital assingment in amp is set for cd function and corresponding input(example cd plyer connected on dig 4 input on amp, press menu, setup, assignment, go to cd player, make sure setting on dig 4 or change input to dig 4, go to next component to memorise setting.and exit, see manual to assist you) if still no sound take dvd cable for instance that is working and put that in dig 4 port. if that works check in cd player that settings spdif/raw/pcm is correct one for yor digital output if still no sound soun pc board faulty.

I have connected my dvd player to my tv and although I can see the picture there is no sound

You have a three port yellow-red-white port. Plug the port's yellow end to the yellow plug point of your TV & DVD player both and this way red to red and white to white. I think it fix your problem.
