My PaperPro One finger 15 sheet power Stapler just stopped stapling. ???

It appears the the cocking mechanism is not working. With the cartridge open the power driver does not fully retract when the release is pushed in. Any ideas?

The answer to this problem is simple. When you pull out the mechanism to reload the staples, there is a small metal black piece on top of the mechanism attached to a spring that drives the staples. When reloading, often times the driving piece gets flipped backward. All you have to do is flip this piece over and is should snap back into place. Fixed!

Can you give me more detail? Flip what backwards and how?

For PaperPro Prodigy. Best stapler I have used but after about 8 years the flat steel staple driver broke. To repair, remove the bottom by forcing it back, force the stapler halves apart with a flat screw driver and the top comes off. The springs and levers are on one half and they will not fly apart. I couldn't find the staple driver part (on the left) so go to the store and buy a new stapler.

SOURCE: Depressing top black bar doesn't cause stapler to

There may be a staple or a piece of a staple jambed in the driver. Sometime taking a screw driver and carefully pushing the drive back will clear the problem.

SOURCE: Swingline Stapler Staples Only After You Open It Up....

When you lift up the top of the stapler (as though you are going to put staples in), does the pusher slide freely back and forth? It might be getting stuck at some point and not pushing the staples (either due to a worn pusher spring, or friction). First (after removing the staples) try spraying some light oil on the mechanism and lifting the top part of the stapler up and down a few times and observe how easily it moves back and forth. Also, with the top open try GENTLY sliding back and forth a little - if it slides fine with no sticking, try loading staples and using stapler. If it slides ok, but doesn't quickly return to it's "normal position" when pulled so as to put tension on the spring, rhen the spring may be worn and need replacing.

Help please! I have a Paper Pro high capacity stapler that will not staple. I can open it up and put staples inside, but no staple will come out when pushed down. Oddly enough, if I put ONE staple inside...

are you using the correct size of staple?? (thickness wise) secondly check the spring is pushing as it should, also a fix to get it working is as you put the staple stack into the stapler, seperate them and see if will staple. other than that it's defective and you should purchase a new one.

WHERE do I open it to refill it??

Located on the end opposite of where the staples come out, there is a spring loaded cap. Push it in toward the base of the stapler and slightly down to release the retaining hook. then let the spring release the pressure rod and pull it out. Connedted to the end of the rod you will see a plunger that is shaped like a short run of staples. Make a mental note of how and where this plunger slides into the base of the stapler. Place a run of staples into the stapler in the same manner that the plunger fits then replace the plunger into the same place following the run of staples. Compress the spring into the stapler and attach the hook as it was. Now you are ready to work.

NOTE: If you cannot compress the spring enough into the stapler you have inserted too many staples, just remove some of the run of staples and try again.

PaperPro 1110 Prodigy metal stapler Has ceased up. How do you open the top to access the mechanism? thanks Gerard

My PaperPro Prodigy stopped firing staples. Examination of the hammer mechanism was fine. (apparently sometimes an internal part can break) Check with stapler opened and no staples. Hold the safety lock pin down with a fingernail or sticky tape so you can check operation of the hammer mechanism. Should withdraw to clear staple compartment and then fire. If this looks good, examine the roof of the staple compartment. Mine had a little lump of brown grunge in the roof of the staple compartment next to the hammer - stopping the staples from sliding up into firing line. Scraped it out and works fine again.
