SOURCE: change rollers on a Maytag Neptune Dryer
You have to work from the front. Pull the top then the front then you will be able to see everything. Pretty self explanatory.
SOURCE: Changing the drum rollers on a Maytag MDE4000AYW Neptune Dryer..
The instructions above are perfect for most Maytag Dryers, but the Neptune MDE4000AYW is built differently from most. To open it, undo the two screws that run through the door hinges, and remove the door, then undo the two other screws that are on the opposite side of the doorway. With these four screws out, you can lift the front panel UP and out. Make sure you unplug the dryer first :-)
SOURCE: REPLACING BELT
Hello, This is somewhat involved and time consuming, but if you are handy, it can be done. First unplug the dryer then start with the two screws in the hinges of the door and then the door lifts out. Two
screws on the opposite side holding plastic spacers. Once these four
screws are out the front panel tilts right out. The front panel will come off then 4 more holding on the
front tumbler support and air duct. Removed wires from light and
dryness sensor and clips holding wires to panels. Pull out the
tumbler and removed belt. If your dryer gets a lot of use, then you might want to keep going and replace some more wear items while you have it apart. Remove the two drum support rollers and
shafts by removing a nut on the back side of each shaft. Remove snap
ring off each old shaft, install new rollers and fiber washers onto
new shafts, reinstall snap ring and replaced on brackets with the old
nut. Remove tension spring off idler pulley bracket and one screw
holding on the bracket. Install new pulley and fiber washers on new
bracket and reinstall bracket and spring. Placed new belt on tumbler
and reinstalled tumbler. Used drill and bit to drill out pop rivits
holding on the two front glides that are attached on the front tumbler
support and installed new glides and pop riveted in. Reinstall front
support and air duct checking that felt tumbler seal front and rear are in place. Placed new belt on motor pulley and idler pulley.
Reinstall front panel.
SOURCE: How do I remove the lint housing of Maytag Neptune dryer
Hi Kate,
Gaining access to the lint housing sounds more difficult than it is. As a matter of fact, I could get to it and have it back together in the time it takes me to type out the instructions!
Tools needed;
1.) Phillips screwdriver
2.) 5/16" nut driver or socket
UNPLUG THE DRYER FIRST!!! Or risk a funky new hair-do...
Open the door and remove the four screws at the hinges then remove the door. Opposite the hinges, you'll see 4 more screws, remove these too. Now grasp the front panel on both sides near the top and pull it toward you. Lean it out to about a 45 degree angle and lift it off the clips that are holding it (at the bottom).
Now you'll see the lint trap housing. Look around the housing, you'll probably see a yellow wire near the 5 o'clock position, remove it. Now, on either side, you'll see four 5/16" screws... Don't remove the top ones, just remove the three below the top ones. You can now pull the entire panel off of the frame for cleaning.
Rebuild in the reverse order (and don't forget to re-connect that yellow wire!)
There ya go! Please don't forget to rate this as "FixYa", OK
