All of a sudden there is green dots (snow like) all over the screen/picture. Just bought this tv about 2 weeks ago, and it was working fine until last night. When I turn off the tv, wait a littlebit & turn it back on, it works fine for about 30 seconds and then the green dots appear all over the screen. Mainly in dark areas (black). What can I do top get rid of this issue? I tried turning the tv off, waiting for like 30 minutes & turning it back on. I also unplugged the power cord of the tv & plugged it back up, same result. I even reset the tv to manufacturer settings, but still I turn it on & 30 seconds later the picture is covered with green dots in certain areas (depending on the color). Help, please....this tv is basically brand new & it's still not working right. Sony customer support wasn't very helpful either, they couldn't help me fix the problem. Does anybody have the same issue & how I'd you fix it?

SOURCE: Sony TRV-19 Camcorder - Black screen in camera mode

Fixed it, at least temporarily I had the side off my trv250 examining it, especially the CCD connection. I had read the post about soldering a capacitor to pins 1 and 3 (from the left) on the bottom row. I didn't have the specific capacitor on hand, but I started touching some of the small ones I did have to those pins. I found that after I touched a 100uF, 10V cap to pins 1 and 3 the picture suddenly came back to life and stayed that way after removing the cap. I have no idea how long this will last, and I've set up the cam on a tripod in the livingroom with the LCD display facing me so I can monitor it. If you, like me, figure you have nothing else to lose, you might want to give this a try. Note: my camera was suffering from the green smeary horizontal lines problem, and wasn't completely black. I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not.

I have the same TV which had the same issue ( green in picture ) - back on 10/2007. I called Sony. They had their technician replace the optical box ( factory defect ). There was no charge for the repair even though TV was out of first year of warranty. Call Sony.

Screen goes completely green and ''dotty''. Sound still there.

It is dying a slow and painful *****. Time to retire the set after all those years of faithful service and move on.

Snow

There is a fault in the main processor that is causing noise. The set will have to be serviced. The tech will probably try the main video processing board to start.
