SOURCE: Can't install encore pci wireless card ENLWI-G2

You need to update the driver from device manager and make sure that you browse for the driver from your installation CD because there are times that windows install its own driver for a device liek a wireless adapter.
hope that helps........

Keep getting a setup error on the install disc for th ENLWI-NX2 adapter.

If the PCI wireless adapter card is accessible by opening the computer case, then

First, turn off the computer, remove the wireless adapter from the PCI bus.

Second, use a non-abrasive, soft, pink pencil eraser to clean the electrical contacts on the wireless adapter card. There may be some slight corrosion on the contacts. Then remove the pencil eraser debris by wiping the contacts with a plain, non-treated, unscented facial tissue or soft lintless cloth. Do Not wipe it with your fingers because the oils in your skin can cause further rapid corrosion.

Third, carefully and fully replace the adapter card, being careful to properly seat it in the PCI bus.

Fourth, turn on your computer and check Control Panel. Add/Remove Programs for anything associated with your driver card, that may have been installed. You will want to uninstall these before trying to install the driver again. Also check Control Panel, Add/Remove Hardware or Control Panel, System, Device Manager for any entries associated with the adapter card. These will also need to be removed/uninstalled.

Fifth, restart your computer. When the "Found New Hardware" prompt appears, Cancel it without allowing it to try looking for and installing drivers for your adapter card. You will be installing the drivers from the CD in the next step. Allowing Windows to attempt installing drivers at this point may result in *.dll and other support files for the drivers being installed which are incompatible with the adapter card driver and support files on the CD.

Sixth, insert your CD and install the adapter card drivers from the CD.

Seventh, restart your computer if instructed to do so by the adapter card driver installation program.

Eighth, restart your computer, which will force a flush of all memory buffers, disk buffers, and complete the installation as the computer is shutting down. This will also allow the operating system to add the necessary entries to the operating system registry during the boot-up phase of the restart.
..

If your operating system is Windows 7, then you will need to download the appropriate driver from:

http://www.encore-usa.com/us/support/ENLWI-NX2

An updated driver for Windows 7 was posted on May 23, 2011. an updated Utility file is also available for download at the same web page.

If your operating system is Windows XP or Windows Vista the above driver for Windows 7 may still work. If it does not work, then perhaps the driver on the CD can be recovered by cleaning the disk.

To clean the disk, first try using water only. If that does not work or the disk has fingerprints or grease/oil on it, then use water and a single drop of clear dish detergent such as Dawn. When drying the disk, use a soft lintless cloth and be sure to wipe in radially from the center toward the edges. Do Not wipe in a circular direction around the disk, because this could create more scratches in a direction that would maximize potential data loss.

If the CD is scratched this could also account for an error when installing. CD polishers are available at most department stores ranging in price from $15 to $125. A CD polisher kit will usually remove scratches, allowing an uncorrupted read of whatever is on the disk.

If your operating system is something other than Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, then there appears to be no driver available from the manufacturer, Encore. In that case, a wireless adapter that has a driver compatible with your operating system will need to be procured.

Windows 7 does not detect Encore ENLWI-SG. Someone has this driver?

http://www.encore-usa.com/us/product/ENLWI-SG

If you read the manufacturer's webpage, it says there are no drivers for this past XP. I recommend you try the XP driver, if it works GREAT! If not then uninstall that driver, and go get a WIN7 compatible card...
