I bought an older used Clavinova CLP 260 and want to know how to connect it to my computer sound card for recording. What cords are needed with the MIDI in / out and In L/R and Out L/R on the back? Also, is there a way to upgrade its abilities in sound options. It only has Piano, Clavinova Tone, E-Piano, Harpsicord, and Organ options.
Hi...
Your L/R jacks in the back need to connect to the "line-in" connector on your sound card.
I think the jacks on the Clav are 1/4 inch. Go to Radio shack and ask for an adapter that will take two 1/4 inch plugs/cable and convert it to a 1/8 inch stereo plug.
The Midi connects From (keyboard) To (soundcard)
Cables are available at any music store

Hi ...
There are flexible cables that connect the keys to the main electronics. The connectors for those cables sometimes age poorly..
It is fixable. But dont "get taken" on a repair.
If it's just resoldering a few points,it shouldnt be more than $100.00

I am elementary with this ... but good at following instruction :o) so:
I have 4 jacks = 2 L/R IN and 2 L/R OUT. On the front of my computer I have the Headset and the Microphone choices. Can you be more specific in what connects to what.
Also, someone handed me something that only connects to my headset on the front of the Clavinova and would go to my sound card. This is not what I want, correct. The adapter nor the plugs fit anywhere else on the Clavinoa.
The four jacks are on the back (pic attached)
So you are saying once we determine what to connect on the back, then I would use the headset choice on the front of my computer?
The jacks are on the back of the Clavinova and my headphone for the computer sound card is too large for them.
