Inside the case back on my JR-7855 is a label with the steps to take to change the batteries. The sticker says to short the pad marked "S1" with the pad marked "+". Keep doing it quickly, then check the watch face. You got it right when the seconds start to change on the face.

Your watch is Chronograph watch and the big centre seconds hand is for chronograph function only - not day to day seconds counting. Check the small dials and you will see that the small seconds hand is already counting seconds- this small one is seconds counter. To engage chrono hand push the upper push button once. To stop it - push the same button again. to return to zero- push lower button. mcdevito75 here, You have a Fissil watch, Quatrtz, and the face has changed color, If the color is a dark gray or black, and you"ve banged the watch against something, The LCD Liquid Crystal Display is shot, no good anymore. To be sure see a local small watch repair shop in your area, they should tell you for sure and for free. Sorry!.

Press and hold the SET button (it will read CHIME with a flashing on or off). Then push the MODE button - the top will be flashing 12-HR or 24-HR. Push the ST/SP button to toggle between the 12-HR to 24-HR reading. Push the MODE button to get to the hour/minute/second/year/mo-day/month/day value you want to change. Push the ST/SP button to increase the value, the RESET button to reduce the value.

This is called BEZEL (you say face plate). It is snap on fitted and must be pushed back on to case. Some bezels are very hard to fit.If there is not enough strength in your fingers to push it back, then you will have no option, but to visit your nearest watch repair shop. Watchmakers are using special press for fitting bezels.

The dials are part of a Chronograph (stop watch) I assume there is a second, minute, and maybe a date function. Usually the large second hand is part of the stop watch on only moves when you start the stopwatch (top right button) push again to stop and reset back too zero is the bottom button. Usually to set or zero out those dials pull out the crown to the first click (also sets date) then push the top button to set the seconds (big hand) and the bottom button to set the other. sometimes you may need to pull the crown out to the second click (also sets hour and minutes) to set add'l dials. This is generally how you set most chronograph watches the button you push and what moves may be different.

Hold the light button (top left hand) for a few seconds and the adjustment mode becomes available.

I have a Fossil Kaleido that i havent used in some time. I just replaced the batteries in it and the only thing that works is it goes from solid red to hearts..it wont keep time. I only have 2 buttons on the side..one to change the time and one to set to either red or switch back and forth/// PLEASE HELP!! i love this watch
