SOURCE: Can you adjust the water level on the LG Tromm WM1814CW?

No. Water level is not user adjustable. The washer will automatically put in the correct amount (about 3 inches in the bottom of the tub) and adjust for load size and type. This level is all that is needed. The reason the clothes are hardly wet at the end of the cycle is due to the high spin speed (compared to almost all top loading machines). If you want to see how wet the clothes really are, pause the machine mid cycle and the door will unlock and you can see, or select a "no spin" option and see at the end of that cycle. You will use about 12 gallons of water for a large load, vs. about 45 for a top loading machine, so remember to adjust your soap and fabric softener use accordingly. ( one tablespoon detergent and one teaspoon fabric softener maximum per load)

LG front loader washing machine, model number WM1814CW, won't dispense fabric softener. I need the correct part number to replace the cold water valve

part number 5220FR2006H for the single valve and part number 5221ER1003A for the triple valve. I have both parts in stock and can ship you either you need. The single valve is $28.99 plus shipping and the triple valve is $43.03 plus shipping. You could have it in 1 or 2 days. Thanks Mike

Slow water admission

If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

LG WM1814CW washer - doesn't fill with water. Hear a hum when it should be filling with water, but no water and no error codes. I am guessing Valves (F160 and F170). Any thoughts?

Hi

If the washer won't fill you'll need to check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the pressure/water level switch assembly. Inspect the inlet hose coming to the washer for any blockages. If the hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is fine then the pressure/water level switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Keep on getting the IE erorr

Error code IE means an water inlet error. Correct water level is not reached within 8 minutes after water is supplied or it does not reach the preset water level within 25 minutes.
Make sure water supply tap is open and not frozen. Check and clean water inlet valve from debris. If the issue persists, replace water inlet valve.

What does IE on the display mean?

IE means inlet error. Most likely the washer took too long to fill, due to a plugged screen where the hose attaches to the inlet water valve. Frozen water line would do it also. Or a bad water valve.

Flashes 13?

IE = Inlet Error. if the water level has not been reached in a certain amount of time, you will get an IE code. Most likely cause is clogged inlet water screen, inside the threaded end where the hose attaches to the machine. Other possiblities are valve shut off, kinked hose, open water inlet valve solenoid coil.

Cold water will not shut off even when washer is off.We left unit unpluged over nite and still have same problem LG washer # wm1814cw overfills

You have a stuck cold water solenoid valve.
Try openning the machine and tap on the cold solenoid valve.
If this dowes not work, you may have to replace the valve.
