There are a few things that can cause this. The two most frequent: (a) Has the monitor or computer been moved? The connector may be loose or slightly "off" of the port on the video card.  (b) If that's not the case, does it happen all the time? It's possible that one of the color 'guns' is off or malfunctioning - which means, essentially, a dead monitor. A 15" CRT just isn't worth fixing these days.  The little buttons beneath the monitor, unfortunately, do nothing for color adjustment - just brightness, contrast, and the usual positioning controls.

What are signs of picture tube going?

Signs of a CRT going old, are bad focussing, unnatural colours and hues of a certain colour (red, green, or blue) if you watch black/white pictures. In colour pictures, black sequences also show hue.

Pink hue to picture

Pink hue picture denotes the absence of green colour. Check the green video output transistor for open. It can be easly recogansized by taking the voltage at the collector point of that transistor. It will be high, almost equal to its supply voltage. Measure the base voltage of that transistor also. If there is no base voltage the symtom occurs. if it is so trace the track and reach to the green output pin of the related ic. If there is also no voltage, Ic may be fault. on the otherhand check the green cathode of the CRT is ok. It is quite easy. Detach all the components related to that pin, or make a temporary cut to isolate the green cathode. The switch on the set. If a green colour [High intensity] perists, the CRT is ok. You can check it in an other way. Take a 2W resistor fo value 470k or more, connect its one end to earth point, and other to the green cathode pin [Just Touch and Out], a green screen will flash on the screen. If these to checks fails, CRT is faulty.

There is a green hue around the objects and people on the screen how do i fix this

Hope it is just cleaning take off the front screen. I think on that model remove the speaker covers, and a row of screws holding the bottom of the screen remove them. Watch the wires to the front buttons there may be a connector or two to undo. Carefully lift up and toward you WATCH THE WIRES. With a dry clean cloth wipe off the three CRT tops and the back mirror. Put back together and see.
If you still have a green hue.
Remove the screen again. With a flash light look down the CRT's if they a real cruddy down in the coolant yes there is liquid coolant in them. The red doesn't have this trouble but the blue and green can get contaminated. Also look for leaking of the coolant down on the boards. There are procedures to clean and repair leaks. Let me know.
There are a couple of focus procedures which I don't think is your issue.
Good luck Mark

MY SONTY WEGA TRINITRON HAS A PURPLE HUE AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN. ALSO THE CHANNEL DISPLAY WHICH IS NORMALLY GREEN ON COLOR IS NOW A RED COLOR

Hi,
This kind of problem occurs if tv screen got hit by some thing that damage internally and its irreparable, second possible cause is magnetic field nearby screen, please check any speaker or some thing that has magnet inside around tv, remove it from tv to fix purple hue at top of screen.
Unplug tv from AC wall socket for 20-25 minutes, replug back in and turn it On, this will demagnetize screen to cure the problem.

Sony Trinitron picture turning green hues

Nowadays CRT's do not have good quality shadow masks anymore. After heating up a little they can give a so called "blooming" effect giving a blue an yellow leaf effect large over the screen. Reason nonparallelity in deformation of the shadow mask.

57" Sony Wide Screen Projection TV with a green hue

You were given some pretty good advice but what you need now is a BK467 crt tester and the pin-out connections. Each tube, especially the green, will need to be tested for high/low emmisions and shorts. Don't take it on faith that having it rejuvenated will work for anything other than temporary either. You're probably lloking at replacing at least the green crt and it ain't cheep..
PS, don't kill the messenger either - - I don't like giving bad news and any shop you take it too will not relish in telling you what I just did.. I have 20 years in the repair industry and it's never pleasant telling a customer it's time for considering an new TV...
