Owners manual for a shimano bicycle

I recently purchased a used 15speed Shimano bicycle. Other details on the bike include Barletta, High Ten 8925, and Ser No 0920110388. Is it possible for me to obtain an owners manual? Was the bike manufactured in 1988? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure you will find an owners manual but I highly recommend the book Zinn and the art of bicycle repair. Zinn is the author. He covers every fix imaginable for new and older/vintage bikes. He probably has several versions of the book out.

Have you looked on the Shimano website? They have a lot of useful information on there, including basic gear setuo details which will generally apply to all groupsets.

Hello! I need a manual for a 1988 schwinn world road bike. I need to replace the front brake caliper and don't know how to do it.

The owner's manual won't talk about that.

http://www.schwinnbikes.com/support/owners-manuals

If it's Shimano, go to http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/index.jsp and find it.

What's wrong with the brake? Usually pads wear out (replaceable) or adjustments are necessary. I've had bikes for over twenty years and never replaced a whole brake for failure.

Use a search engine for video answers. "replace bicycle front brake caliper", for example.

Is ther manual for Shimano C50????Shimano EFR-50 EZ Fire integrated?? New bike and forgot how to use to best advantage

Pole aroudn here http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/index.jsp

Manuals for components won't teach you how to actually USE anything.

Search engines will answer specific questions, usually with videos.

Shifting, braking, fixing, just about anything.

I've pulled my raleigh shimano 21 bicycle apart and I've forgotten how to put it back together

"Shimano 21" doesn't really narrow it down much.

What exactly are you needing instructions for? Most bikes are just static frames with a bunch of aftermarket (Shimano, for example) stuff hung on them.

Everything on a common bike is found on just about any other brand of bike and the individual components are usually documented at the individual manufacturers' websites.

Places like http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help document many of the repair and adjustment procedures.

Google will find tons of How-to videos for assembly and adjustment.

You might find a Raleigh-specific manual for your bike here...

My Shimano Deore DX mountain bike up / down shifter is malfunctioning. Any help will be appreciated.

Maybe start here and if you can't figure it out, take it to a Bike Shop. Ther's only so much useful mechanical advice one can remotely lend with no details.

I purchased a bike online which has shimano shifters, I have no idea how to operate them. Can you help? A generic owners manual was included, which is no t specific to these shifters

Surf over to http://bike.shimano.com/ and find your shifters.

They'll be under Products >> (bike type) >> (group name )>> Shifters .... Tech Docs

Or swing by a Local Bike Shop and they'll be happy to assist you as well as start an ongoing relationship with you. Buy something there as thanks.
