this can be usually associated with your white balance in still camera mode.
Check to see your white balance is set correctly or just set it to auto. Also make sure the mode you are in it set. (ie. indoor, outdoor, auto, speed)
All I can think of is to use some editing software on a computer and use it to capture a frame from a video clip, save that as a picture and print normally.
First, are you trying to view the photos on your camera, or is this after you've downloaded them onto your computer?
I took a look at my Cyber-Shot and it looks like it sorts photos strictly by the numbering sequence, not by date. I couldn't find a way to prioritize it to view by date in the playback menus either. Have you tried viewing them in index mode? You can do this by pushing the "Home" button while in playback mode. From there you can pick either single, index or slide show mode. If you have already tried this, do the photos still show up out of sequence?
If you are trying to view your photos on your computer, it's a simple fix, and it's only slightly different from Mac to PC. When you have the folder open containing all the photo files, simply click on the field at the top of the columns that you want to view them by, i.e., "file size", "file type", "date modified", etc.
The camera may display a FORMAT ERROR if the inserted media is not formatted or if the media was formatted ona Computer. This error may also display if the inserted media is notsupported by the camera.
