Samsung Digimax A7 digital camera

I have recharged the batteries, tried new alkaline batteries, and the camera shuts itself off within 2 seconds of turning on. The shutter is almost closed, but will not open when the camera is turned on.

Contact the Samsung Technical support for a repair opinion Then look up your local Internet for a repair firm Bear in mind the likely cost will be heavy. It may be a case of you paying a lot of money for shipping/insurance/Inspection/only to find it cannot be repaired because of lack of parts.

I turn on the camera and as soon as it comes on it shuts itself of

This is a symtom of weak batteries.

Please remember that the alkaline type of batteries will not last. The lithium type while more expensive, dollar for dollar, will outlast them.
A cheaper alternative is to get a charger and Li-Ion rechargeables.

Samsung Digimax D53 Camera says low battery but just replaced with brand new ones. Camera beeps and shuts down immediately.

For digital cameras you should use either Rechargeable(whith high Ampere) or high performance alkaline batteries (ie. Lithium Duracel or Enegizer) normal alkaline batteries will not be able to charge the Flash. If you are useing high performance batteries then it is sadly your camera which is faulty. repairing it you could but it is cheaper to get a new camera.

Good luck!

the camera tends to take up a lot of battery so what the best solution is to buy some rechargeable batteries those work great. i have some of those. and they tend to last a very long time!

Displays "low battery" always

I had exactly this problem and found the solution - I was using the wrong type of batteries.

You might be doing the same so what you need to do is check to see what mAh the batteries you're using. I was using Energizer rechargables with 1300mAh when the camera stopped working and switched to 2500mAh rechargables (on the advice of a friend) as a last desperate attempt to get it to work and it solved my problem. I got 2500mAh Energizer rechargables and would advise the same but you should go for batteries with at least 2100mAh.

I hope this helps some people :)

Won't take a picture

There is a Battery Type setting in the Menu of your camera.

Do the following:
- Press Menu/ Ok button
- Go to Set Up 2 (icon looks like a wrench with number 2 on it)
- Scroll down to Battery Type

Under Battery Type, there are two options:
- Alkaline- if you are using non- rechargeable battery
- NiMH- if you are using rechargeable battery

HELP!

Use lithium batteries. I had a problem when our camera would turn on for a few seconds, beep 3 times, and then shut off. The best batteries, which are actually recomended for this camera is the lithium batteries. I strongly suggest them.

CAMARA SOFTWARE PROBLEM

Does your battery work with regular AA alkaline batteries ? They have higher voltage than NiMH rechargeable. I'm having a similar problem, just discovered today that my camera works fine with AA alkaline batteries.
