Hi Rabia,

It seems as if the Picture-in-Picture feature of your television is activated. Please take a look at the remote control and find the PIP button and press it, this should bring the picture into full-screen and allow you to hear the audio.

Sony trinitron kv35s26 no high voltage.

Continuous blinking of standby light to Sony TVs indicates a fault with its II2C bus. Your set need an through checkup, which can only be done by any experienced service technician. Anyway, try the site linked here, and see is there any details which could help you. Do a search by entering the brand name to your device by its search box at top right of the display window, because, posts are not arranged in alphabetical order, but by brand name at first.

Yamaha av Receiver RX-V465 picture but no sound. Can switch between PS3 and sat tv all via hdmi connections. Good picture yet still no sound. Trying to run left right and center Bose speakers. Read the...

Check the settings on receiver in the SETUP menu / HDMI / Audio. Here you can choose Amp (sound goes from the speakers connected to receiver), TV (receiver is muted and sound is routed via HDMI to TV) and Amp+TV (sound goes from speakers and also to TV).
Also check in OPTION menu / Signal Info that receiver is receiving sound in recognized format.

I HAVE A HI DEF BOX AND IT IS CONNECTED TO MY TV VIA A HDMI CABLE BUT PICTURE IS NOT HI DEF. DO I NEED TO ACTIVATE SOMETHING ON THE TV ITSELF?

HD signals are automatically sent from the receiver to the TV and are displayed as such unless there is a setting on the HD box in the on screen display to drop the signal to standard definition.

Its also imperative that you have HD programming and that that you are tuned to an HD channel. Since the box itself is backwards compatable it can display Standard Definition signals.

What is the model # of the box. Perhaps I can guide you to the settings.

Projection TV, Sound but no Picture

If this Tv is a model year 1996 or 1998, It is quite possible your vertical IC needs resoldered. It is located on the small signal board. This board [quite large anyway] is the board on the left. I don't know the location off hand. The IC has seven pins and located on a heatsink, It is a TDA series. Resolder any and all grounds you see. May as well get the Large Signal board [On the right] resoldered. The other problem would be the P I P board, a small board standing up, that can be removed and replaced. But try the earlier first. This is tedious, but will produce results.

Picture too big for the screen

If you are using any type of set top box weather it is a cable box or something along those lines, You are out of luck. The formating is controlled in whatever box is connected to tv. So to format the screen size keep this in mind. Cableboxes usually only let you adjust for 1080i and widescreen. But aspect is subjective to how they send the signal to you. Also make sure you hookup a HDTV cable box or I recommend Dish Network to this set because it is easy to operate the formating using the button on bottom left of remote. " * " STAR button is great. ALSO the DVR is larger and you can run the 2nd TV off the same box although it is Standard defination, the 2nd remote is very handy because it talks to the box via RF signals, which means no IR or line of site problems. Its awesome. If i can help you further. don't hesitate to email back. Thank you and have a good night. Jay

Background

Hi Adrien, the easiest way to set a picture as a Windows background is to open the picture in your web browser and right click on it. A menu box should appear, about half way down you should see an option labeled *Set as Background*. Left click on that option and Windows will automatically use that picture as you background image and tile it to fill your entire desktop. Alternatively if you have Windows XP and use the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer program to display the picture the process is the same except when you right click on the picture the selection will be *Set as Desktop Background*. When you select that option it will do the same thing. If you don?t like the tiled effect right click on the desktop and select properties from the popup menu. In the display properties box that appears click on the Desktop tab, and in the lower right hand corner you will see a field labeled *Position*. Left click on the pull down arrow and select center or stretch, depending on what effect you want. Let us know if you need any other help and don?t forget to rate the posting.
