Can't log on to the internet and my carrier said I had a bad IP address number and needed to reset it. I have had no problems logging on till today. I don't know what the factory setting are so how can I do this?
Hi jdominey401,
In order to reset your IP address on a Windows Operating System, you will need to go to your control Panel, and click on your Network Connections. You will have an icon showing you Local Area Connection, which probably has a triangle with an ! in it. Meaning it's has a problem. Right Click on the Local Area Connection and go down to RESET. This will access your modem and give you a new IP address. If it all works fine, the triangle with the ! will disapear, and you should be back online.
Good Luck,
Mark
click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode
type in ipconfig press enter
you will see all of your internet connection details
or type in your default gateway adress into your internet search should read something like 10.0.0.138 to get an inertnet connection
hope this helps
