This also happened after I changed the water filter. The small black rubber tube that fills the tray was plugged with ice. Instead of hot wash cloths I used a hair drier for a couple of minutes.

This just happened to us and the icemaker tube (black tube coming from the roof of the freezer) was frozen. We changed a water filter and apparently did not run enough water through the new filter, the black tube that puts water into the white ice tray had ice coming out of it. Additionally, there was one frozen cube in the first slot of the tray. We heated wash cloths and placed on the tubing until the ice melted. We did the same for the tray and the water began filling again. Hope this helps.

Solution #2 was the same for us. the black tube delivering water to the ice tray was frozen. we use wash clothes wet with hot water to unfreeze the tube and now it works great! Good luck.

The prime suspect would be the solenoid valve. Check it for continuity with an ohmeter (after unplugging the fridge and disconnecting the coil, of course). If that's okay, then you might have a bad switch in the icemaker itself, or the supply line might be frozen. I'm betting on the solenoid. Good luck with the fix!

    Where is the solenoid located?

Refrigerator model kscs25inssoo. Don't stop filling ice box in the door

you have a problem with the optics--if you look on the inside wall of the freezer section on the left side you will see a eye with a flipper on the left is another eye with the icemaker on off selection when ice reaches that level in the bin it cuts off a laser beam that runs from one side to another which stops power to the icemaker---clean both sets right and left eyes and unplug the fridge for 2min this will reset the optics--if problem still persists you will need new optics-part#-4389102

Kitchenaid refridgerator/freezer/icemaker model KBFS5ET5500 EVERYTHING WORKS BUT THE ICE MAKER...JUST QUIT. THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A SHUTOFF VALVE AT THE BACK OF THE FRIDGE. I AM LOOKING TO SEE IF THE...

Hello Raymond,
In a most of cases if the filter were clogged it would affect BOTH the icemaker and the in door water dispenser, its never a bad idea to replace espically if they is a foul odor or taste in the ice or water. The water valve on the back is going to the most likely problem if the in door dispenser works yet the icemaker does not,a lot of times when the water valve is bad when its supposed to be fully closed cutting all water flow into icemaker it stays open a wee bit allowing water to seep through it causing the hose that connects to it ,running up the back wall into the icemaker to freeze up at the top where the tube enters into the freezer, that tube needs to be thawed, and to prevent it from freezing in the future the water valve needs to be replaced.

Goodluck,i hope this helps you to fix your icemaker,

ICEMAKER HAS NO WATER IN IT AND ICE STRIPPER NOT MOVING BUT WATER DISPENSER WORKS KITCHENAID SUPERBA MODEL #KSCS23INBL00 SIDE BY SIDE WITH ICE AND WATER DISPENSER IN DOOR

First check to make sure the icemaker is on. Most icemakers have what looks like a wire that extends to the right. Down is on, up is off. If yours does not have this, there might be an on off switch on the icemaker itself. If the wire (bale) is on, or the switch is on, then the icemaker is defective, unless the freezer is too warm. Icemakers have a thermostat in them that will not let them operate if the freezer is too warm. Sometimes that thermostat will not activate until the freezer is 15 degrees.

Kitchenaide fridge icemaker is not working at all.

Check the water flow at the door.

If the water flows slowly, then you have a clogged water filter.

The filter is either outside below the doors, or in the upper right side of the refrigerator side.

Good Luck!

Ice cubes stick together as though too much water is coming into tray. Is there a valve or something to control amount of water coming in?

yes their is a water valve , 2 things it could be your valve or you i/m. the i/m tells the water valve to fill for about 6-9 seconds if the icemaker is bad it could be telling it to fill for 10 seconds instead of the normal time and overflow the icemaker ,or the water valve also called solenoid could be bad and at not stopping at the desighned time. i dont have your model # to go much furthur but you can remove the cover in the front of the icemaker and see if you see an icemaker water level adjustment screw, newer ge and frigidaire ref. cannot be adjusted, however wpl, maytag, and older ge ref can be and older frg.try adjusting water level at icemaker first .

Ice Maker Not working

three things, frozen tube, deffective water valve ine maker issue
step 1 remove the rear cover of the ref down at the compressor
the water valve will be on the right side held in place with 2 1/4 inch screws
slide the valve out of the ref
the water lines connected to the valve for the water in the door and the ice maker are held in place by a retaining ring to remove the line push in on the white retaining ring and pull the ice maker line out, blow through the line into the icemaker if you can it is not the problem

with the line to the icemaker still disconneced reverse the wiring at the water valve, the connections are different is size and all that you need to do is touch the connectors on the valve while someone depresses the water in the door if water comes out the valve is good

the problem if the other tests are good is a faulty ice maker
