1320n won't finish print job

This is the first time that I have heard of this issue. I use an hp 1320n to print checks for my company, to do so I require a Troy MICR dimm card. It has worked great for me for almost 4 years, and now (seemingly out of the blue) My printer stopped feeding properly. The page picks up from the tray (or the media feeder) just fine, prints most of the page and then stops halfway before finishing the job, and the computer indicates a paper jam. After clearing the paper about a thousand times, and troubleshooting everything I could find, I decided that I needed to switch printers, so I moved the dimm card, to another 1320 that I own, tried printing off of that, and was met with the same issue. They are both network connected, when I finall removed the dimm card, printing seems to work fine, but I can't print checks. I am not fully convinced that the card is truly the problem due to the fact that it doesn't really affect the print system. Has anyone else ever had "freezing printer" issues with the 1320n? Is this scenario familiar to anyone? Thanks for anything that you can give!

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion after speaking with Troy (the manufacturer) directly. This error was brand new to them too.

Hi,
Go to printers, right-click your HP 1320 and choose "Continue".
The printer should change the status to ready after printing the remaining print job in memory.
Hope i was of any help. If so, please rate me.
Thank you.

Is there a counter for pages printed on my 1320n

No, the page count is not on the test page. You need the configuration page. Press the GO button and hold for 5 seconds. The yellow light will come on and you can release.

Hp 1320n prints gray blocks of color over text, not on every page, but randomly.

This could possibly be a print driver issue. I would delete the driver from the computer and then download the new print driver from the HP website.

How to wirelessly access HP Laserjet 1320n via Apple iBook

You need to disconnect the USB cable and set it up wireless on both units:
Since it is plugged into the router, it should already have an IP address.
Un-install the printer from the computers.
Then re-install the printer from the cd or from HP's website. When you get to the point where it ask you is the printer is attached to the computer or is it over the network. Choose over the net work and the software will find the printer IP and finish setting it up wireless.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Hp 1320n cant print jobs simultaneously from different users

You may need to add memory to the printer so it can que the jobs. The memory is very cheap...128MB 100-pin DIMM for HP OEM# C9121A

Or...you could setup a printer server que and let the print server manage the jobs for you instead of having the printer hold the que.

I am running Microsoft Word 2003 and have an HP 1320n printer. My problem is that when I print more than 1 copy the pages do not collate even if the collate box is ticked in the print dialogue book and so...

HP 1320 print driver is a universal print driver covering several printer models.  Collating only works on HP printers if you have a multiple exit tray system for commercial based laser printers similar to finishers on a copier.  They have to have room to keep the copier together before they can be collated.  On a standard configured 1320 there lacks any space for finishing tasks.

Not working on window 2003 server as a network printer

I have had a similar issue with both laserjet 3005N and 1320N machines setup as network printers on a windows 2003 print server. Both machines install correctly and print test pages but once you push to much of a print job to it (in my case it was a 12mb pdf file) the printer stops printing and never prints again for some reason. After a quick reboot a test page will print but what gives?? Buffer issues? Not enough ram? None of this makes sense since the printer displays nothing and just stops printNo test pages or anything. I tried re-installing it and rebooting it. Nothing.
