Kenmore HE2 Dryer Does Not Autmatically Shut Off

My Kenmore HE2 Dryer will not always cycle down and turn off. Most of the time the timer will stop at 21 minutes left and continue to run even though the clothes are dry.

YES I have this same problem. I checked the owner's manual and didn't get much help from the trouble shooting page.

All depends how long do you2 have this washer I highly suggest that you return it if is less then a year. if you opt to have ti fixed yourself you will be stuck in the "lemon law" policy, which is seriously broken.

just take it back, and do not let them talk you into sending a tech out.

An acvice for everyone: all front load washers are HIGH MAINTENANCE MACHINES! you MUST: use special soap/ watch the loads/ keep door open/ use mesh bags/ the list goes on!

Your rating is very important to me

Machine stops after wash cycle will not drain and shut down.

Either the pressure switch is not operating as it should, or if it is, then the timer is not advancing as it should.
Pressure switches can fail as with any switch, but one must always check the pressure switch hose for blockages or air leaks first, as the Pressure switch will only operate if the hose is airtight.
Once these two things are checked, then comes the Timer. Repairs of this type can be costly, so be sure you feel that the age of and condition of your appliance justifies that kind of expense to you before proceeding.

How to replace a heating element on a Kenmore Elite Oasis ST dryer

Sounds like you need to replace the timer one the dryer not the element but to make sure I would do a little trouble shooting to rule out the element or heating coil turn on dryer cycle like normal for about 30 seconds then open the door to feel for heat if you do feel heat its your cycle/timer knob if you don't feel heat then it's the coil or element witch are the same also first always check your lint trap and ducts going outside the dryer make sure you have proper airflow through ducts vents. clogged vents ducts ect. Cause over heating of element coil causing a safety fuse to shut down heating coil/element but will not stop cycle also moisture censors detect moisture causing cycle to continue on hope this helps.

Kenmore 110.60812990 will not stop

if it's not advacing in time dry you have a bad timer, that timer should count down no matter what the dryer is doing,if you have it in auto then it could be no heat, when it's in auto or more or less cycle the heat comes on and the timer won't move until the heat shuts down, when the heat is off timer advances, when the heat starts the timer stops,it will do this until the clothes are dry and then timer will shut off but in timed cycle, timer isn't counting down get a new timer.

Have a 90 series kenmore dryer, won't always run. replaced the motor about 6 months ago, and now it will sometimes run, sometimes not. It gets hot, and will run for a bit then shut down, then start up...

If the timer is not advancing but is ticking that could be the problem. A dryer achieves a set temperature and stays there for a certain amount of time during a cycle. If the time never changes it may just keep heating up until the heat sensor shuts it down. If it is starting and shutting down its likely still related to the heat sensor.

My Kenmore drier won't stop now! Perhaps timer isn't working?

Hi there. this is a timer issue. it counts down but, the actual shut off dial embedded in the timer mechanism is damaged for some reason. replacing the timer assembly will correct this issue. there are two parts to a timer. One, it times and last, it initiates the shutoff. the second action is not working properly. to be sure, check the relay before you purchase the new timer.

I have also provided you with a complete manual set that you can access and print out if you would like.

Dryer doesnt work but i hear the timer working

Change your cycling thermostat. When your cycling thermostat fails, then the reponsibility of your heating element to shut down goes to the high-limit thermal shut off (closest to heat element) and the thermal fuse. Your cycling thermostat should shut down heat element when it detects about 140* air in the blower housing. Yours can't detect that anymore so it lets your dryer heat up and up till you blow the thermal. new cycling thermostat and thermal
