My maytag neptune mah4000awq has been pretty reliable other than the famous mold issue. now no hot water is dispensing. troubleshooting it leads me down to the solenoid. cannot find a replacement part due to age of system. any suggestions?
I have the same problem with no hot water. It took me a long time to figure out what was going on. My clothes kept coming out with soap, and my washer would stop and I'd have to restart it. I've been using cold water until we can get it fixed.

I would remove the machine control board located behind the timer and see if there are burn marks on the copper traces on the backside of board. Some boards arc over and this causes the water valves to not work properly.
The control board will have to be replaced if it arced over.

Have you changed your faulty door latch wax motor? See www.neptunehelpsong.com for a video that explains the issue.

Maybe the water channel leading to the dispenser valve is not aligned......lid bowed? See Pic ""I have had two bleach dispenser valves fail in the past two years on my Neptune TL washer. "" Describe fail......did you replace the valves or a repair service? If you did the work what troubleshooting did you do on the valves? Did you check for 120VAC applied to the valve in Service Mode? Maybe the relay that applies 120VAC to the valve is not functioning or working intermittently........see pic of schematic of Control Board K3 is the Bleach Dispenser relay that applies 120VAC to that dispenser valve. Is it working 100% of the time? If not it may be a Control Board or connector issue ......but you need to troubleshoot. Did you power up your old dispenser valves with a 120VAC cheater cord on the work bench to verify operation Open/Close? I'm an owner not a appliance repair tech but have a electronics technical background.
pump is probably clogged not allowing all water to drain out. Should never see water in the tub at the end of a cycle. About once a month you should run your washer through a cycle with hot water and bleach. Doing that should keep the moldy smell down.
Maytag's solution was to run an empty load using hot water and a cup of bleach instead of soap. According to them you are supposed to do this quite often. If the rubber ring that seals the door gets mold on it you are supposed to use a water/bleach solution and wipe it down with a rag.
If your machine is a FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW see if this post will help you.Once the Fabric Softener top is removed you can flush the dispenser and run some pipe cleaners thru the exit ports to help remove gunk build up.
If there is a water flow issue into the Fabric Softener dispenser then further investigation may need to take place.I discuss how I would start the troubleshootingfor that as a possible issue.
The Service Manual for reference use and care guide has some info

The famous Q6 and R11 failure can cause this issue. Have you replaced the faulty door latch wax motor yet? See www.neptunehelpsong.com for a video that explains what happens.
The Q3 triac (same part as the Q6 triac) will need to be changed on the board or the control board will have to be replaced along with the door latch wax motor if yours has the brownish color actuator pin. The new design has a black actuator pin.
You can pour the bleach in the drawer every time you do white loads and it will stay clear too! Just flush it out good before you do colored clothes or you may get a small bleach spot on a red shirt ! Neil Ps. Give me a problem solved rating here on fixya.com
Change the water valve again ,you most likely got a bad one.The odds of there being no cold water after a new valve is almost impossible. You can test the valve to make sure its working before you go to buy another one.
